Jake O’ Kane, Northern Ireland’s most outspoken comic has poured all of his jokes, insights and feelings about growing up in a war zone into his hilarious show Tear Gas.
Combining the stunning photographs of Brendan Murphy with computer graphics, Jake tells the story of his upbringing on the streets, where rioting with police, army and the ‘other’ side was a recreational sport.
Jake’s comedy provides plenty of belly laughs but it also offers unique insights into the corrosive effects of division and sectarianism. After all the laughs, the audience is left with a feeling of hope for the future.
