A commanding live performer blessed with an unforgettable voice, Amythyst combines the political and the deeply personal in her music, embracing, spirituality, grief, joy, healing and love in all its incarnations.
On Still + Bright, the Tennessee artist explores the vast expanse of her inner world: her deep-rooted affinity for Eastern philosophies, a near-mystical connection with the natural environment, the life lessons learned in her formative years as an “anime-nerd mall goth” and much more.
Produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Green Day, Weezer), the record merges her revelatory storytelling with a darkly cinematic twist on the rootsy alt-rock of her 2021 breakthrough Wary + Strange. The diverse sonic palette embraces everything from fuzzed-out guitars and industrial-leaning beats to gilded pedal steel and Kiah’s exquisite banjo playing.
“Still + Bright, is already one of the decade's best records in any of Americana's innumerable subgenres, hands down…It's hard to say which aspect of Kiah's music is most electrifying: the unrivalled power of her voice, the dexterity of her banjo-playing, or the consistently heartfelt nature of her lyrics.” Screenrant
“Amythyst Kiah digs very deep, expanding her musical space…it’s a remarkable and powerful album.” Americana UK
“Genre-defying…epic” Folk Alley

Her breakthrough 2021 album, Wary + Strange, combined two very different worlds: the alt-rock that first sparked her musical passion and the roots/old-time music scene where she’d found a creative home. The Tennessee singer-songwriter building on the huge promise she had revealed as part of Our Native Daughters, whose Kiah-penned standout Black Myself earned a Grammy nomination for Best American Roots Song. Wary + Strange also earned multiple Americana Music Association Award nominations both in the US and UK.
“Amythyst Kiah will remind you what it is to love live music.” No Depression
“Fantastic fingerpicker, dynamo singer and profound songwriter…defies all sorts of stereotypes” Guitar Player
"A masterful blend of lonesome folk and neo-blues" Rolling Stone
“Old time music, country and blues is woven together with a jaw-dropping voice and a natural gift for storytelling…from the moment she first opens her mouth you know you’re in for a helluva ride.” Observer Music Monthly
