CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE AGES Celebrates Year 3 At IndyFringe

Main Street Artists, an Indiana-based touring arts organization, for the third consecutive year will present the musical comedy "Christmas Through The Ages" at IndyFringe on Thursday, December 20 at 7:30pm, Friday, December 21 at 7:30pm, Saturday, December 22 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 23 at 4:00pm.  Performance will take place at the Basile Theatre at IndyFringe, 719 E. St. Claire in downtown Indianapolis.

It's the 13th season for this annual holiday tradition! A Very Phoenix Xmas 13: Merry Superstitious is a marvelous mix of music, sketch comedy, and dance that celebrates of all the holidays. Ben Asaykwee, artistic director of Q Artistry, brings his prodigious talents as a director to this year's production. Phoenix Playwright-in-residence Tom Horan curated the 60 to 70 script submissions for the coveted seven or eight sketch slots in the two-act, two-hour production.

As one might be able to guess from the title, The Mutilated is not a holly jolly Christmas story. The Tennessee Williams play is set in New Orleans and follows two frenemies who cross paths on Christmas Eve. The pair, Trinket and Celeste, are both broken souls with their own secrets. Gigi Jennewein plays Trinket, a wealthy woman with an unknown mutilation. She's fragile and desperate for affection. Celeste is her polar opposite. Played by Beverly Roche, the shoplifting alcoholic is brash and constantly angling to manipulate those around her.

Intimate tables sit close to a stage that hosts stars straight from Broadway. The theatre moved into its new location in April and the result is unbelievable. The 90 minute play keeps a frantic pace as Nya, a public school teacher, finds out her teenage son has gotten into a fight at his private school.

A few of them are both faithful to the author, and fresh enough to satisfy audiences who know this story backwards and forwards. all for One productions is betting on Doris Baizley's adaptation to fully satisfy when it opens on November 9 in the ArtsLab. Baizley's take on the classic is a play-within-a-play retelling which was so popular when it premiered in Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum, that it was revived for five consecutive years!

Man of La Mancha is a classic musical inspired by the Spanish story. Beef & Boards' current production of the show features Disney royalty in the titular role.

Three men claiming to be Sherlock Holmes are being held in an asylum on an island. The famous detective's trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, must make his way to the remote isle to identify the true Sherlock. The Indiana Repertory Theatre's season opener is a twisty mystery that keeps you guessing until the final moments. It takes a minute for the show to hit its rhythm, but it's worth settling in to wait and see how the identities are revealed.
