Phoenix Theatre to Present DOS FALLOPIA 10/1-10/4

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces four performances of Dos Fallopia starring Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt. Opening October 1, 2009, this show can be seen in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix through October 4, 2009. The show is titled Dos Fallopia: Deja Poo (The undeniably eerie feeling that you?ve seen this crap before?) and features the two talented women who have been writing and performing together since 1990.

The Buck Creek Players will open their 36th season 'On the Home Front' with Jane Martin's comedy, FLAMING GUNS OF THE PURPLE SAGE, on Friday, October 2nd. The show will run for three weekends through Sunday, October 18th.

Written by Donald Margulies and sponsored by Barnes & Thornburg, this play for all ages starts Thursday, October 15 and runs through November 8, 2009, with the exception of Friday, October 16, when there will be no performance.

Indianapolis Civic Theatre will conduct open auditions for the musical extravaganza 'The Wizard of Oz' on Monday & Tuesday, Sept. 28 & 29 at 7pm (adults) and on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 4pm for the Munchkins (children 6-12). Auditions will be held at the Theatre facility, 3200 Cold Spring Road on the campus of Marian University. A free Audition Preparation Session is offered on Monday, Sept. 21 from 6-7pm at the Theatre.

Feinstein Named Artistic Director Of The New Regional Performing Arts Centre in Carmel, Indiana

The Regional Performing Arts Center in Carmel, Indiana, will welcome its new artistic director, Michael Feinstein, when it opens next fall. The centre will house a concert hall and two theatres. Carmel will also become the home of the headquarters for the Foundation for the Education and Preservation of the Great American Songbook. Facilities at the Centre will serve as exhibition and office space for the Feinstein Collection and other materials pertaining to the Great American Songbook. These materials will also be made available to scholars, as well as to students and the general public on special occassions.

Kenny G, the Grammy Award-winning saxophonist with over 75 million albums sold worldwide, brings his holiday show to Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009. His sixth album, 'Breathless,' became the biggest selling instrumental record in U.S. history and featured the phenomenally popular single 'Forever in Love,' which won the smooth jazz composer and songwriter a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition.
