The Greek National Opera is now presenting Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s iconic opera Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, from 12 April 2024 and for a run of six performances, at the Stavros Niarchos Hall, in the SNFCC.

The Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the Greek National Opera and Eurolife FFH will present the 2nd Sacred Music Festival, from Palm Sunday 28 April to Holy Tuesday 30 April 2024.

Tickets for the May to June 2024 productions of the GNO Alternative Stage at the SNFCC are now on sale.

The music theatre production The Loser, based on the novel of the same title by distinguished Austrian author Thomas Bernhard, will debut on the GNO Alternative Stage, at the SNFCC on 11 April and run for eleven performances until 26 April 2024.

The Greek National Opera has cancelled a performance of its production of Into The Woods. The cancelled performance was set to take place on Wednesday 20 December, 2023, but was cancelled due to an illness among the cast.

The Greek National Opera (GNO) presents the Greek premiere of La Ville morte (The Dead City), the only opera composed by Nadia Boulanger—one of the most important conductors and music educators, and mentor to some of the greatest music figures of the 20th century—in collaboration with her mentor Raoul Pugno, to a libretto by Gabriele D'Annunzio.

With tickets for the first seven performances of The Nutcracker now sold out, a full three weeks before the premiere, the Greek National Opera has announced two extra dates: 6 and 14 January 2024.

This November and December, the Greek National Opera has the honour of being featured on the international opera channel Mezzo Live HD. This major tribute to the only opera house in Greece will launch with the premiere of a new documentary on both the creative identity of the Greek National Opera and its support by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The Greek National Opera Ballet will present Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, in an impressive new choreography by GNO Ballet Director Konstantinos Rigos, on 20 and 21 October 2023 at the Pattihio Municipal Theatre Limassol as part of the Grand Ballets event organised by the Limassol Municipality (Cyprus).

The second commission of the Artist on the Composer programme –run by the Greek National Opera in partnership with NEON– was given its international premiere in New York to great success.
