TOM: 20s-40s. Tom is a low level employee of Debt Duck, a shady pay day company. He is a working class man with a desk job who has resigned himself to a quiet life; until the company cuts his salary and hours and he starts to feel his back against a wall. He is a kind and moral guy, but he is easily manipulated by Clem, his girlfriend. One might describe him as an affable dolt or a tinge naïve. One part Chris O'Dowd in the IT CROWD and one part Brad Garrett from EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. Must have great comedic timing.

CLEM: 20s-40s. Tom's girlfriend. She is a social activist who worked for non-profits to eliminate third world debt, though she is currently unemployed and the irony of life is not lost on her. She will seize any opportunity to stick it to corporations and greed with relish, even though Tom works for one. She is great at sizing people up and is smart and manipulative, mostly for the power of good. She lives somewhere between Amy Poehler, Sandra Oh and Megan Fox in her fast talking smarts with a slightly aggressive and wry sense of humor.

ALAN: 30s-50s. Alan is the Branch Manager. He is a middle manager who will pass cut backs along to his staff before he suffers from them himself. He is a gambling addict who has seen better days and looks a little rough around the edges and downtrodden. He is self-aware enough to understand his short comings but too lazy and narcissistic to want to change them. Somewhere between Steve Carrell in THE OFFICE and Schmidt from NEW GIRL.

MERYL:30s-50s. She is the regional manager. She is excellent at taking care of #1, which is, of course herself. She is result-oriented and well put together. She calls them like she sees them and makes no apologies about it. She is easily able to talk circles around Alan, convincing him of doing things he didn't see coming. Must be funny in her power and enjoy winding people up and watching them unspin.
