DREW: an appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm, vulnerability and a very strong rock tenor voice. Drew works at the legendary Bourbon Room, hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the beautiful new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams.
SHERRIE: Caucasian female, an in-shape, pretty, fresh faced innocent Midwestern girl stepping right off the bus into a new world to pursue her dreams of stardom. Strong comedic timing, strong rock belt, good movement ability. Should be comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing.
LONNY: the narrator of the piece, charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality, a guy who would be fun to spend one drunken night with. Strong, honest comedic timing/improv skills and strong rock vocals.
DENNIS DUPREE: classic stoner-type guy who runs the famous Bourbon Room Club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing. A laid back, easy going real dude. Bari-tenor rock vocals.
STACEE JAXX/FATHER: a sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self-important, confident, intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Great strong comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice.
JUSTICE/MOTHER: African American female, strong presence, an easy sensuality about her; once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed.
HERTZ KLINEMANN: an attractive older German male; uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece. Strong comedic timing and baritone vocals.
FRANZ KLINEMANN: Hertz’s son, young German male; works for his father, but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle, with a big heart. Strong vocals and comedic timing.
REGINA: a fun, hippie type, in shape, earthy girl who fights against the attempted take-over of the Strip. Strong, comedic timing, belt vocals and comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing.
MAYOR/JA’KEITH/ENSEMBLE: A strong character with good comedic timing to play numerous roles, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability.
JOEY PRIMO/ENSEMBLE: A young male with the rocker sensibility, strong rock tenor and strong dance/movement ability.

TULLY – (Male, age 30-40) Vocal Range: Tenor - B2-C5. Smooth-talking, self-deprecating playboy. He's completely content with the life he's chosen as the singer at a tropical resort, until he meets Rachel, a vacationer who upends his heart. Guitar skills are useful.
RACHEL – (Female, age 30-40) Vocal Range: Soprano - A3-F#5. Fully committed to her job and helping the world. Willing to put in as many hours of hard work as it takes and expects everyone else to do the same. Suspicious of fools and operators, Rachel is not easily distracted from her life plan.
TAMMY – (Female, age 30-40) Vocal Range: Soprano - B3-F5. Loyal friend to Rachel. Cheerful and always ready for a good time. Sees the best in people and has a zest for life that is often squelched by her fiancé, Chadd. Her low self-esteem manifests itself as denial in her own life.
BRICK – (Male, age 30-40) Vocal Range: Bari-Tenor - A2-C5. The Margaritaville Hotel & Bar’s bartender. Has a big heart and is a good friend to Tully. Not the brightest bulb, but sensitive and thoughtful. Willing to put himself out there emotionally and is able to admit when he’s scared.
MARLEY – (Female, age 40-50) Vocal Range: Soprano - G#3-G#5. No-nonsense and assertive with a sharp sense of humor. She runs the Margaritaville Hotel & Bar and keeps everyone in check, but clearly cares about her employees, her customers, and J.D. Speaks with an island accent.
J.D – (Male, age 60-70) Vocal Range: Baritone - G2-D4. A funny, endearing older man who always has a parrot on his shoulder. He's losing his vision and his hearing, but won't acknowledge it. A good natured drunkard, he's always writing his memoirs on bar napkins and, as it turns out, he's lived a full life.
JAMAL – (Male, age 21-40) Vocal Range: Bari-Tenor. Works as both the dishwasher and masseuse at the resort. Fancies himself a real Don Juan. Speaks with an island accent.
ENSEMBLE – All genders and ethnicities with a broad set of age ranges; these characters will range from islanders to tourists to wedding guests. There will be lots to do within this ensemble and many folks will still have featured dialogue and vocal lines. They are the heart and soul of the show that help keep all of the action moving!

CAROLE KING (18+ to play ages 16-29) An aspiring singer/songwriter. A unique, appealing, funny and vulnerable girl from a Jewish family in Brooklyn. Talented, good natured, unassuming and often the peace maker in difficult situations. A reluctant star with no pretense and a passion for music. Has a powerful, distinctive voice. Piano skills preferred but not required.
GERRY GOFFIN (18+ to play late teens-late 20s) Carole’s boyfriend, songwriting partner and eventual husband. He is smoldering, dark & handsome with a rebel vibe. Although sexy, he is innately sympathetic, wounded and tortured. An ambitious artist always striving for more. Sings well. Baritone/tenor.
CYNTHIA WEIL (18+ to play late teens-late 20s) A songwriter who becomes romantically involved with Barry. Carole’s best friend. She is sophisticated, smart & chic with a quick wit. Although self confident and sarcastic, she is also extremely likeable. Strong comic timing who sings extremely well. Belt.
BARRY MANN (18+ to play late teens-late 20s) A songwriter who becomes romantically involved with Cynthia. He is good natured, appealing & neurotic. Ambitious, but likeable. Strong comedic with a great voice. A strong high tenor comfortable with pop & rock style singing.
DON KIRSCHNER (30s-40s) An influential music publisher and producer. He is a fast talking, energetic force of nature. Powerful, direct & sometimes intimidating, but he has a real affinity for his writers and artists. A hit maker. Non singing role.
GENIE KLEIN (40s-50s) Carole’s Jewish mother. Once an aspiring playwright, she has been broken down by life & her husband’s infidelity. Protective of Carole and unforgiving of her husband’s mistakes. Non singing role.
NEIL SEDAKA/RIGHTEOUS BROTHER/ENSEMBLE- (20s-30s) Caucasian, a singer songwriter. Tenor.

Bob Wallace: (late 20s to mid 30s) Male identifying. A major singing star, Bob is the guiding force behind the song and dance team of Wallace and Davis. Despite his occasional gruffness, he is a deeply kind and principled man who is searching for his true love. *A very good singer with a crooning style who moves well. Baritone.
Phil Davis: (late 20s to mid 30s) Male identifying. The fun-loving, go-getting song-and-dance partner of the team Wallace and Davis. He’s a man who is determined to see his friend happy, even if it requires scheming and outright deception. He has a boyish charm. Strong jazz and tap-dancing; baritone-tenor
Betty Haynes: (mid 20s to early 30s) Female identifying. The sensible, responsible half of the up and coming song-and-dance team, the Haynes Sisters. A woman of decent, upstanding principles, she is devoted to her younger sister. Like Bob, she hides her yearning for true love under a protective shell. Rich chest mix sound and a soprano extension. Moves well.
Judy Haynes: (early to mid 20s) Female identifying. The younger, more ambitious, Haynes sister. While wholesome and adorable, she is flirty and scheming – a winning charmer! Strong jazz and tap dancing; chest mix.
General Waverly: (late 50s to mid 60s) Male identifying. A retired U.S. Army General, adjusting to returning to civilian life in post World War II America. Once a powerful leader, he now runs a struggling inn in Vermont. He remains a man of great principle and dignity. Beneath his curmudgeonly military exterior lies a warm, compassionate man. He sings a portion of one song, but this is a non-dancing role.
Martha Watson: Female identifying. Once a Broadway star, now the General’s housekeeper and receptionist at the inn. Martha has a very dry, wry, wisecracking sense of humor. Bighearted but rather unsentimental, she runs the General’s life in spite of his protestations. She is an irrepressible meddler, but always for what she believes to be the other guy’s best interests. A winning, appealing character comedienne with a belt voice. Moves well.
Ralph Sheldrake: (Mid 20s to late 30s) Male identifying. Army buddy of Bob and Phil’s, now a major television executive with the Ed Sullivan Show. Fast-talking New York professional. Baritone
Ezekial Foster: (mid 40s to late 50s) Male identifying. The ultimate taciturn New Englander who helps out at the inn and takes life at a very slow pace; definitely has a wry sense of humor. Baritone
Mike: (mid 20s to late 30s) Male identifying. Bob and Phil’s Stage Manager. Has a tendency to be anxious, but will get things done. Never seen without his whistle and clipboard which he uses to attempt to keep order. Baritone
Rita: Bob and Phil’s one of two star chorus girls. They are brash, sexy, and fun, although perhaps not the smartest.
Rhoda: Bob and Phil’s one of two star chorus girls. They are brash, sexy, and fun, although perhaps not the smartest.
Tessie: Bob and Phil’s extremely competent assistant.
Jimmy: The proprietor of “Jimmy’s Back Room,” a none-too-classy nightclub.

Gomez Addams: Age: 35-55, Vocal Range: Bb2 - G4. A suave man of Spanish descent who adores his wife and children and takes immense pride in being an Addams. Gomez finds himself trapped between his daughter and his wife, being forced to hide Wednesday’s big secret from Morticia. He has great comedic timing and is a strong dancer. Spanish accent is a plus!
Morticia Addams: Age 35-55, Vocal Range: G3 - Bb5. The beautiful, leggy and mysterious head of the Addams family who believes strongly in family tradition. Morticia is unnerved thinking that Gomez is hiding something from her. She is confident and sexy with a side of dry wit. She is a strong mover (tango skills a plus!)
Wednesday Addams: Age: 18-22, Vocal Range; A3 - E5. Gothic big sister Wednesday who has her father’s heart and her mother’s sensibility falls in love with a “normal” boy who she brings home to meet the family. Wednesday is trying to balance her relationships with “strange” family with that of her new love and his “normal” family. Wednesday showcases compassion, a bit of stubbornness and strong will. She has a strong belt.
Uncle Fester: Age: 30-50, Vocal Range; C3 – G4 (optional C5). Serving as the narrator of the show, Uncle Fester is lovable, childish, enthusiastic and highly incorrigible. Fester has great comedic timing and a tenor voice. Ukulele skills a plus!
Grandma: Age:50-60, Vocal Range: G4 – F5. Fun, quirky and feisty, Grandma always has a trick up her sleeve. Grandma is wise, wacky and sometimes a bit crass. She has great comedic timing and physicality.
Lurch: Age: 25–50, Vocal Range: Eb2 – E4. A man of few words, Lurch is the Addams Family butler. His unmistakable commanding presence is accented by grunts, moans and deliberate movement. Has great non-verbal story-telling abilities (think: facial expressions and sound). Lurch has a rich bass voice.
Mal Beinecke: Age 35-55, Vocal Range: C3 – A4. The uptight and father of Lucas and cold shouldered husband to Alice, cynical Mal meets the Addams with skepticism. He finds the Addams to be too bizarre for his liking and cannot fathom being related to them.
Alice Beinecke: Age: 35-55, Vocal Range: Ab3 – G#5. Lucas’s mother and Mal’s wife, Alice is strongly devoted to her family. She presents herself as reserved and collected (even when speaking in rhyme) until she learns to unleash her wild side at dinner with the Addams. She has a strong belt.
Lucas Beinecke: Age: 18-22, Vocal Range: C3 – C5. The hopeful romantic and son of Alice & Mal, Lucas has fallen in love with Wednesday and intends to marry her. He is optimistic and hopeful yet struggles to find the balance between his ‘normal’ family and the macabre Addams. Strong singer.
The Ancestors: 18+, All Vocal Ranges, Male & Female. The Addams ancestors from various eras serve as the chorus for the show and help bring the story to life. They will be featured both singing and dancing throughout the entire show (once relapsed from the family crypt!). Seeking actors with both vocals and dancing abilities.
