Rehearse: 8/26/22 Performs: 9/25-10/23/22

Roles available:

MARY DEBENHAM: An English beauty in her late 20s. English dialect. Works as a governess. Very cool and collected, very British. Underneath it all she is very sad, heartbroken, yet strong. *BIPOC actors encouraged to submit.

COLONEL ARBUTHNOT / SAMUEL RATCHET: Colonel Arbuthnot: A Scotsman in his mid 30s, handsome, proper, and very matter of fact. Scottish dialect. Career military. Very masculine, straightforward, quick to anger when provoked. Fiercely loyal and protective. Can also be sweet and romantic. Samuel Ratchett: A middle-aged American businessman, brusque, unforgiving, with a stern demeanor. Rude to those he considers beneath him, presumptuous with those he considers his equal. A rough criminal who has acquired a lot of money and tries to appear refined—and only partially succeeds. Close to the stereotypical 1930s gangster but must be truly dangerous.

BOUC: Belgian, young middle-aged and a man of good humor. French dialect. The general manager of the train company. Functions in this story as the Watson to Poirot’s Sherlock: the comical sidekick who always jumps to the wrong conclusion. Big emotions.
