Please prepare a short song that shows off range and personality. Bring sheet music
in the appropriate key; a pianist will be provided. Bring a picture/resume, stapled.

[JERRY MULLIGAN]: Male, 20-30, any ethnicity - must be an excellent ballet dancer; some tap and jazz a plus; good singer. Jerry is a Midwestern painter, studying in Paris on the GI bill; he is charming, ambitious and somewhat innocent.

[LISE ALLTMONT]: Female, 18-28, any ethnicity - must be an excellent ballet dancer, pointe work, good singer. Lise is very private but very determined.

[ADAM HOCHBERG]: Male, 20 – 35, any ethnicity - Good singer, some dance. New York classically trained composer living in Paris. Ex GI.

[HENRI BAUREL]: Male, 20-39, any ethnicity - Strong singer, some dance including tap. The son of privileged Parisians. Secretly wants to be a song and dance man.

[MILO DAVENPORT]: Female, 30-39, any ethnicity - Good singer and dancer. A wealthy American art patron

[MADAME BAUREL]: Female, 50-59, any ethnicity - Henri’s upper middle class, comically self-righteous mother. Actor with excellent comic timing; good singer.

[PATSY CLINE]: The first female singer ever inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Seeking dynamic and passionate actress that can embody Patsy Cline in voice and spirit. Ability to mimic her unique vocal sound is imperative. Strong singer with a wide range.

[LOUISE]: Houston housewife who is a big fan of Patsy Cline who becomes a genuine friend to the singer. Strong actress.

[SANDY DUMBROWSKI]: (Range: Soprano, A3–F#5) New girl in town; Though outwardly sweet, wholesome, naive, and innocent. She eventually throws off the repression of her parent’s generation. Any ethnicity.

[BETTY RIZZO]: (Range: Alto A3–C5) Leader of the Pink Ladies; tough, sarcastic, and outspoken but vulnerable. Any ethnicity.

[FRENCHY]: (Range: Alto, A3–D5) A dreamer; good-natured and a loyal friend but not too smart, she cares deeply about her appearance, particularly her hair. She can't wait to finish high school so she can be a beautician. Any ethnicity.

[MARTY]: (Range Alto, C4–C5) Considers herself the “beauty” of the Pink Ladies. She’s aged faster than her friends, but betrays her real age when she opens her mouth. Tries to act sophisticated. Any ethnicity.

[JAN]: (Range: Alto, A3-C5) Funny, loud and pushy with the girls, but shy with boys. She struggles with her relationship to food. Any ethnicity. Any ethnicity.

[DOODY]: (Range: Tenor, D4-A5) The youngest of the guys; small, boyish, and open, with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude towards the other guys. Must play the guitar. Any ethnicity.

[KENICKIE]: (Range: Tenor, C4–F5) The second in command of the Burger Palace Boys; tough, tattooed, surly, and avoids any show of softness. He has an offbeat sense of humor. Any ethnicity.

[SONNY LATIERRI]: (Range: baritone, G3–A5) A member of the Burger Palace Boys; funny Italian-American, he is a braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he's a real lady-killer. Any ethnicity.

[ROGER]: (Range: Tenor, D4-A5) He will do anything for a laugh. Full of mischief, half-baked schemes and ideas. A clown who enjoys putting other people on. Any ethnicity.

[VINCE FONTAINE]: (Range: Ensemble/Part Flexible) A typical 'teen audience' disc jockey; slick, egotistical and fast-talking. He is also a veteran 'Greaser.' Any Ethnicity. 30-45 y/o.

[CHA-CHA]: (Range: Alto, C4–C5) The best dancer at St. Bernadette's; a loud mouth, she wins the dancing competition with Danny. Any Ethnicity.

[EUGENE FLORCZYK]: (Range: Tenor, A3–E5) The class valedictorian; physically awkward, with weak eyes and a high-pitched voice. He's a typical 'apple-polisher' - both smug and pompous, but always gullible. Any ethnicity.

[JOHNNY CASINO]: (Range: Tenor, G4-E5) All-American, rock-star “greaser” student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence. likes to think of himself as a real rock “n” roll idol. Any ethnicity.

[MISS LYNCH]: (Range: Ensemble/Part Flexible) A no-nonsense, serious, loud English teacher. Strong comedy chops. Any ethnicity. 40+ y/o.

[PATTY SIMCOX]: (Range: Alto, D4-A4) A typical cheerleader; athletic, sure-of herself, but can be given to bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She's a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies, and can twirl a baton. Any ethnicity.

[TEEN ANGEL]: (Range: Tenor, E4–F5) Frenchy's suave and slick guardian angel, who encourages her to stay in school. Any ethnicity. Flexible age.

[ELVIS] Male, in his 20s at the beginning of his career; must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar; should sound and look somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator”.

[CARL PERKINS] Male, 25-35. Actor/singer/guitar player (lead guitar); the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes”; must be an excellent lead guitarist.

[JOHNNY CASH] Male, 20-30. at the dawn of his epic career; must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar; tall; should sound and look somewhat like Johnny without being an “impersonator”.

[SAM PHILLIPS] Male, 25-40. “Father of Rock’n’Roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B. King; a towering and charismatic figure in American music.

[DYANNE] Female, 18-30. an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend; attractive; great singer with a wide range; sings solos and back-up throughout the show; sings “Fever” in her alto range and covers the high soprano part of “Riders In The Sky” (Johnny Cash song).
