https://njtheatrealliance.org/annual-combined-auditions. Equity members may indicate their preferred audition time of day; every effort will be made to honor requests but preferred times cannot be guaranteed. Full instructions will be included in the registration form.
Registration ends on Monday, March 2, 2026. Audition confirmations will be emailed no later than March 4, 2026.
Various New Jersey area theatres will be participating in these auditions. The theatres listed below will count their participation toward their Equity audition requirements; expected personnel for each participating theatre are listed in their breakdowns.

Headshots and resumes submitted digitally at registration will be collected into a virtual book distributed to theatre representatives.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided; the producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Equity actors for roles within various New Jersey area theatres' seasons. Actors will be auditioning for multiple theatres at these auditions. Breakdowns for any Equity theatres whose participation fulfills part of their Equity audition requirements are attached to this notice.
New Jersey Theatre Alliance (NJTA), the service organization for the state and region’s 41 professional theatres, will hold auditions in Enlow Recital Hall on the campus of Kean University in Hillside, NJ on Monday, March 16 from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM for Equity performers, and Tuesday, March 17 from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM for non-Equity performers. Representatives from member theatres will follow up with actors directly if they are interested in hiring them.
Actors of color, actors with disabilities, and local New Jersey actors are encouraged to audition.
Equity actors will have 5 minutes total. Please prepare two contrasting monologues: one contemporary and one classic; of these, one should be comedic and one dramatic. You may perform one monologue if it best represents you. Alternatively, actors may deliver one monologue and a 32-bar cut of a song. If singing, bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided all day. Please indicate on your registration form if you intend to sing.
No phone calls, please. Self-tapes/virtual auditions are not accepted.

Rate: $333 weekly minimum (SPT 1)
Expected to attend: Laura Ekstrand, Artistic Director
Vivid Stage will be producing 2–3 main stage plays (no musicals) with cast sizes between 2–7 actors. The 2026–2027 season plays have not yet been selected. The theatre produces mostly contemporary plays—both comedies and dramas—that address relevant social and personal issues on an intimate scale.
