GOGO PENGUIN Come to the Boulder Theater This September

Hailing from Manchester in the UK, acoustic-electronica trio GoGo Penguin are pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Rob Turner. Drawing on a heady brew of influences from Brian Eno, John Cage, Massive Attack and Aphex Twin to Manchester's grey rain-streaked urban streets, they create a brave new sound that is wholly their own.

The Chamber Singers of the Colorado Springs Chorale and the Summit Ensemble of the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale will present Ralph Vaughan Williams' beautiful Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant us Peace)as the featured work in this season's X-VOX: Generations Joined in Song.

Mizel Arts and Culture Center to Offer Visual Arts and Drama Classes for Young People

Since 1994, The Mizel Arts and Culture Center (MACC) has offered summer activities for young people through the Art Academy and the Wolf Theatre Academy. For eleven weeks beginning June 5th, classes will be conducted under the supervision of professional theatrical and visual artists, who are also experienced educators. Students will explore their creativity while learning and having a lot of fun. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from for grades preK through 12th. The Mizel Arts and Culture Center is located at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver with some classes being held at nearby Graland Country Day School at 55 Clermont Street.

Brooklyn synthpop duo Great Good Fine Ok met one evening in 2013 and by the next morning had written their first song together, 'You're the One for Me,' a gauzy, heart-thumping anthem that hit #1 on Hype Machine twice in one month and instantly established the group's sound with Jon Sandler's dancefloor falsetto soaring over Luke Moellman's lush post-Space Age production, the perfect soundtrack for retrofuturism. An EP, Body Diamond, soon followed, as did a slate of shows at that year's SXSW festival and a deal with Neon Gold and Epic Records.

A lot has changed in the last four decades, but 10,000+ performances later, BDT Stage is bringing back the show that started it all. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat begins preview performances May 13, playing all summer long, through August 19, 2017.

Marlon Wayans is an actor, producer, comedian, writer and film director.  As a stand-up comedian, he is selling out nationwide and adding shows every weekend.  Wayans can next be seen starring in the NBC sitcom Marlon, loosely based on his life, premiering this August 16.  Wayans also stars in the upcoming Netflix movie Naked, which will premiere on the streaming site August 11.  He last starred in Fifty Shades of Black, which he also wrote and executive-produced.

BWW Review: THE NETHER at Benchmark Theatre

Anyone else waste their summer vacations playing The Sims all day? Escaping to a world where you're in control, and there's few limitations to what you can do. That's essentially the premise of Benchmark Theatre's thrilling inaugural production of Jennifer Haley's The Nether, which explores the boundaries of where futuristic virtual reality meets roleplay. The 2012 winner of the Susan Blackburn Prize takes a dark look at what society might create in a simulated world without limits. The Nether is a strong regional premiere for Benchmark.
