Pilobolus is a non-profit dance theatre organization based at 6 Kirby Road in Washington, Connecticut, known for creating work collaboratively and for a physical style built on athleticism, weight-sharing partnering and humour. The company tours nationally and internationally, with its current production Trips playing venues such as the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh, the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans and Moody Performance Hall in Dallas, alongside residencies at the Joyce Theater in New York. Its education arm runs classes and workshops rather than a graded studio syllabus: kids classes and a kids camp, adult intensive workshops, masterclasses, the Pilobolus Continuum and MOVIN' programs, Pilobolus @ Play, and the UP! immersive experience. Two courses are aimed specifically at older adults - Connecting with Balance, taught on Zoom and in person to improve mobility and reduce fall risk, and Bounce Back, which teaches seniors how to fall safely. The organization also hosts an annual community Pilobolus Day of performance and movement workshops.
