Connecticut Ballet is a professional ballet company with studios at 20 Acosta Street in Stamford and an office at 750 Main Street in Hartford, led by artistic director Brett Raphael. Its performance calendar includes The Nutcracker, Giselle, the free outdoor Ballet Under the Stars series, a Be My Valentine program and family matinees, presented at venues including The Palace in Stamford and The Bushnell in Hartford. The company holds auditions for dancers and rents costumes to other organizations. Alongside performing, it runs an extensive community engagement program covering school assembly programs, the Share the Magic student matinee series, a Center for Dance Education, the Danbury Dance Initiative, juvenile justice outreach, health and wellness work and accelerated training scholarships. Its official school, the Connecticut Ballet Center, offers year-round classes for recreational and pre-professional dancers alike.
