The Ballet School of Stamford is a 501(c)(3) non-profit school based at the Stamford Town Center in downtown Stamford, Connecticut. Its stated mission is to foster the art of dance by offering training to students at all levels while promoting cultural diversity in ballet training and performance, and to present performances for the local community. The school runs a graded ballet curriculum from Toddler and Me (18 months to 3 years) and Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet (ages 3-5) through Primary and Elementary, Lower School, Intermediate School and a Pre-Professional School covering levels 5-8, where students take ballet several days a week alongside pilates, jazz, modern and hip hop. Pointe work begins at level 4 after an individual assessment carried out with a physical therapist.
