Oregon Ballet Theatre School is the training academy of Oregon Ballet Theatre, a 501(c)(3) non-profit at 720 S Bancroft St in Portland, Oregon. Under school director Katarina Svetlova, a former OBT principal dancer, it teaches a curriculum combining classical ballet tradition with evidence-based modern training practices, supporting students whether they pursue ballet professionally or recreationally. Programs run from Pre-Ballet and Creative Movement for ages 3 to 5 through Primary Ballet and Levels 1 to 6 for ages 6 to 22, with pointe introduced at Level 3 and upper levels adding pas de deux, variations, character, improvisation and contemporary work. Adult classes serve ages 15 and up, and an invitation-only pre-professional division includes OBT2 and a trainee program.
