Dancewave is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dance center at 182 4th Avenue in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn, describing itself as a community hub for artists, educators and young visionaries that uses dance as a vehicle for transformation. It teaches people of all ages, from 3 to 103, across backgrounds, abilities and experience levels, and its 1,400 square foot studio is ADA compliant and LEED-gold certified. The youth school runs a weekday and Saturday schedule of creative movement, ballet fundamentals and technique, contemporary fundamentals and technique, and a creative modern ensemble, grouped from Pre-K ages 3-4 up through grade 12, alongside the auditioned Dancewave Company, youth camps and summer intensives, and a career and college preparation program.
