Shakespeare's unforgettable tale of star-crossed lovers is coming to the Addison Theatre Centre's Studio Theatre, brought to you by Outcry Youth Theatre. You'll find the romance, action, and tragedy you've come to expect from ROMEO AND JULIET, but without the tights. The story has been transported from Renaissance Italy to a carnival world where two rival circuses have bad blood between them. The classic characters have become ringmasters, tightrope walkers, sword swallowers, magicians, clowns, mimes, and more.

'Bridges' was created to try and bridge the gap between the Millennial generation of LGBTQ+ individuals and our predecessors who helped pave the way for us. We've asked the younger generations to send us questions that they would want to ask older LGBTQ+ individuals, then sought out those individuals to interview. Flexible Grey has devised a performance where the Millennial LGBTQ+ generation presents portions of these interviews in a monologue night that sheds lights on the untold stories from everyday members of our wonderful and diverse community.
Dallas Children's Theater Celebrates 35th Anniversary Season And A Unique History Of Heartfelt Storytelling

Since 1984, more than five million children, students, and families have been inspired and delighted by the live theater performances of Dallas Children's Theater (DCT). To celebrate 35 years of unmatched service to North Texas and beyond, DCT is announcing a season lineup comprised of large-scale world premieres and timeless throwbacks.  The season opens with a new and reimagined telling of Treasure Island on September 23. Produced in collaboration with three other towering Dallas based companies in their respective fields of expertise, the new telling is expected to draw all ages into the popular pirate world.

9th Annual FESTIVAL OF THE KID Comes to Stage West, 5/7

Stage West is pleased to announce the 9th annual Festival of the Kid performances, Monday through Wednesday May 7-May 9 in the Studio at Stage West.  This unique festival was originally conceived by Rob Bosquez, Jr. and Dana Schultes in 2009, and its first performance was presented in December of that year.  Their idea was simple: produce plays written by kids and use their peers as the performers.  Since that time, the Neighborhood Play Contest has drawn hundreds of entries, and has expanded to three days, with two performances each night.

North Texas Performing Arts presents Heathers, the musical, May 4-12th at Willow Bend Center of the Arts in Plano, Texas. Based on the classic 1989 film, the musical is about a misfit young girl, Veronica Sawyer, who rejects the evil regime of the most popular and prettiest girls 'The Heathers' at Westerberg High. Veronica's new scary boyfriend, J.D., takes matters a bit too far and puts the Heathers in their place - six feet under.

The esteemed Fort Worth Youth Orchestra (FWYO) will celebrate its 53rd Season Finale at Bass Performance Hall on May 20, 2018, featuring special performances from each of its four ensembles. Participating in the worldwide celebration of 'Bernstein at 100,' the FWYO will commemorate the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein by performing popular orchestral arrangements of his compositions: Overture to Candide and Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. In addition, guest soloist Pui Ying Wong and the Youth Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's formidable Violin Concerto. The FWYO's String Orchestra will also perform an arrangement of a selection from West Side Story.
