Sammie had an abnormal upbringing, raised by an unwell mother. As a child she decides that living in the realm of make-believe is easier than coping with actual reality. As Sammie reaches the cusp of adulthood, harsh reality is encroaching on her life. When her mother pops in for an unexpected visit, Sammie is forced to confront the choice: does she retreat into fantasy, or does she learn how to live in the real world?
