Windfall at Steppenwolf Theatre Company

Steppenwolf Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season continues with a gripping and lyrical world-premiere by Academy Award-winning ensemble member Tarell Alvin McCraney. When a Chicago father loses his child in a clash with the police, he is visited by three strangers who advise him to take the city's cash settlement, relocate and forget his grief–or else remain, haunted by memories of the world his child fought so hard to protect. Directed by Awoye Timpo, this new work is a vital and timley look at the spirit of activism set against the most indifferent system of them all: the almighty dollar.

Starring ensemble members Alana Arenas, Glenn Davis and Jon Michael Hill, reuniting onstage for the first time since the Tony Award-winning smash success of Purpose. Joined by ensemble member Namir Smallwood, fresh off his critically-acclaimed Broadway turn in Bug, alongside Esco Jouléy and Michael Potts making their Steppenwolf debuts.
