Children's Theatre of Charlotte Ends Run of THE COMMEDIA KING ARTHUR, 5/2

Children's Theatre Of Charlotte's Resident Touring Company, the Tarradiddle Players, will close the final show of their 2009-2010 season, "The Commedia King Arthur" on May 2.
When bedraggled young squire Arthur forgets his master's sword, he needs to find a substitute quickly if he wants to keep his job. He grabs the nearest sword he can find, which happens to be sticking out of a big rock, and the rest is history - or at least legend. This quickly moving production features many well-known Arthurian tales, making it a perfect introduction to an English classic. The story is told in the centuries-old Italian Commedia dell'arte theatre style that inspired modern day comedians like Abbott and Costello and the Marx Brothers. Fresh, fast-paced and full of physical humor, Commedia shows are always faithful to the original tale, but with an added bonus of slapstick silliness that leaves audiences helpless with laughter.
