This weekend I had the great opportunity to meet the legendary, Tony and Grammy winning Kinky Boots star, Billy Porter! He was in town for a benefit event with Prima Theatre in Lancaster, PA which I attended and later got to participate in a meet and greet with him after the concert. It was only fitting for him to be here since the star grew up in Pennsylvania.

Tickets for all performances are BYOP (Bring Your Own Price). Come as you are, pay what you will! Any size donation gets your ticket. This production is in conjunction with the Central PA Pride Festival and proceeds from the weekend of performances will benefit the LGBT Center of Central PA.

The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Theater Series continues the summer fun with the Children's Series musical comedy The Near-Sighted Knight and the Far-Sighted Dragon, directed by Ryan Goulden.  Performances are July 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.  on the Raymond W. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $10,000 to ArtsQuest, Touchstone Theatre and Zoellner Arts Center, for the Cirque It! Festival on July 14-16, 2017. The NEA received 1,728 Art Works applications and will make 1,029 grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.
