Individual Tickets Now On Sale for 2018 Season at Open Stage of Harrisburg

Open Stage of Harrisburg, the capital's oldest professional regional theatre, is in its 32nd season of thought-provoking theatre. Individual tickets are on sale now.

Season 32 at Open Stage features many plays about women: featuring female playwrights and creative teams and female protagonists. Open Stage's Subscription Series includes FUN HOME, AKEELAH AND THE BEE, THE FLICK, COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BETTIES, LITTLE WOMEN.

AKEELAH AND THE BEE, by Cheryl L. West, is based on the work of Doug Atchison. Performances will be from February 16 to March 11, 2018. AKEELAH AND THE BEE will be directed by Stuart Landon and Sharia Benn and is produced in partnership with Sankofa African-American Theatre Company.

THE FLICK, a play by Annie Baker, will run March 25 to April 22, 2018 at Midtown Cinema in midtown Harrisburg, PA. THE FLICK is directed by Stuart Landon.

COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BETTIES, by Jen Silverman, will run April 27 to May 6, 2018 and is directed by Karen Ruch.

LITTLE WOMEN plays from June 8 to 20, 2018. Local author, Laura Dugan, is re-imagining Louisa May Alcott's American classic. LITTLE WOMEN is directed by Stuart Landon.

Open Stage is also producing many Court Street Series, Educational Series, and Holiday Series Productions including three editions of COURT STREET CABARET, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE SANTALAND DIARIES, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, and ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

Open Stage is presenting three editions of COURT STREET CABARET in Season 32. These evenings of song includes selections of old and new favorites from Broadway and beyond.COURT STREET CABARET: JUKEBOX EDITION on November 3 & 4, 2017. COURT STREET CABARET: UNSUNG EDITION on January 12 & 13, 2018. COURT STREET CABARET: MISCAST EDITION on May 11 & 12, 2018.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL is back at Open Stage from December 1 to 23, 2017. This production, based on the classic Dickens tale and newly adapted by Rachel Landon, is directed by Stuart Landon.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES by David Sedaris returns to Open Stage and Federal Taphouse December 3 to 22, 2017. The production, directed by Karen Ruch, features a new Crumpet, Jeff Luttermoser, in this irreverent one-man-show.

Eve Ensler's THE VAGINA MONOLOGUE, directed by Kristi Ondo, will be presented at Open Stage February 2 to 4, 2018. THE VAGINA MONOLOGUE introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices in an award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone.

Open Stage of Harrisburg will present its 19th annual production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK at Scottish Rite in Harrisburg, PA. The play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hacket is adapted by Wendy Kesselman and will be directed by Brad Delzer. THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK has Student Matinees at 9:45am on March 14 & 16, 2018 and a public performance at 2pm on March 17, 2018.

Students of The Alsedek Theatre School and the OSHKids Performance Company will present their re-telling of Lewis Carroll's ALICE IN WONDERLAND May 17 to 20, 2018. This production, newly adapted by Rachel Landon and designed by Stephen Michael Haas, will be directed by Hanniel Sindelar.
