Daughters (Hijas): A New Musical, written by Saviana Stanescu, Julian Mesri, and Courtney Young Socher, follows Andrea, who is determined to explore her Argentinian roots despite her mother Mariana's reluctance to confront her family's deep connection to Los Desaparecidos and Las Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo. At a museum exhibit, Andrea comes face to face with Clara, a girl who disappeared in Buenos Aires during the Military Junta, who could be her grandmother. The musical spans four generations of women and blends pop and contemporary musical theater with tango, rock nacional, and folclore sounds from Argentina. The cast features Francisa Munoz, Sabina Lueras, Erica Reyes, Isis Jarnicki de Carvalho, and Josh Totora, directed by Courtney Young Socher.
