Ithaca Resident David Studwell to Lead Hangar Theatre's RED, 6/12-21

The Hangar Theatre has announced that Ithaca resident David Studwell will star as artist Mark Rothko in the Tony Award-winning play Red by John Logan, which kicks off the theatre's 40th Mainstage season June 12-21.
Rolling Stones Autographed Guitar Up for Auction at Chenango River Theatre's 7th Annual Gala, 4/12

A brand new Fender electric guitar, autographed by The Rolling Stones, will be one of the featured items up for auction at Chenango River Theatre's 7th Annual Gala, held at the Silo Restaurant on April 12 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. This year's Gala will honor Nancy Phillips, a former Board member at Chenango River Theatre who was instrumental in the start up of the company and is a long time supporter of the arts in the greater Binghamton area.

This production comes to Geva from the Olney Theatre in Maryland and is directed by Eleanor Holdridge. I and You begins performances on April 10 and runs in the Fielding Nextstage through April 27.

In Brecht's comic and complex play, this question is raised by one of his most entertaining characters, Shen Tei, the good-hearted, penniless, cross-dressing prostitute, who is forced to disguise herself as a savvy businessman named Sui Ta so she can master the ruthlessness needed to be a 'good person' in a brutal world. The Good Woman of Setzuan will run March 28-April 13, 2014 in the Loft Theater at the Syracuse Stage/Drama Complex. CRT to Welcome Buddy Holly Tribute Band, 5/2-3

Buddy is back! For two nights only, Cortland Repertory Theatre will presents a concert by 'The Rave-Ons', America's Traveling Buddy Holly Tribute Band led by Todd Meredith, who starred in CRT's hit 2013 musical 'Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story'. The concert will be held on Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3 at 7:30 PM at 19 Church Street in Cortland, the former United Community Church. Seating is General Admission, and tickets are $30 per person. The concert is sponsored by The Overhead Door Company of Cortland and hosted by the CRT Board of Directors.

From today until Wednesday, April 16 at midnight, artists from all over the world may submit their productions to venues for the 2014 First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival (Thursday, September 18 - Saturday, September 27). Submissions will be accepted ONLY at rochesterfringe.com on a rolling basis - in other words, venues can start negotiating to book shows immediately.

But the deal isn't the only thing lost in translation as he tangles with a government official, a bumbling consultant, and a surprisingly sexy bureaucrat along the way.
