Based on the popular television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present 'A Charlie Brown Christmas,' on Sunday, Nov. 27, adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer and based on the Peanuts characters created by Charles M. Schultz.

The Skidmore College Department of Theater has announced the premiere of a multilingual version of The Orphan Sea by Caridad Svich, 2012 Lifetime Achievement OBIE award winner. Director Eunice Ferreira, Skidmore theater professor, innovatively infuses the play with multiple languages, song, poetry, film and dance to invite audiences on a metatheatrical journey.

Artists, playwrights, directors and actors, as artists, must be willing to reflect life as it is-good and bad-while simultaneously satisfying the need to hold an audience's attention. The never-before-produced play Laura and the Sea, which begins performances in the Syracuse University Department of Drama's Storch Theatre on Nov. 4, is a prime example.

4th Annual Hudson Valley Dance Festival Raises Record-Breaking $136,767

Dance lovers and performers alike gathered on the shores of the Hudson River on October 8, 2016, to celebrate the fourth annual Hudson Valley Dance Festival in Catskill, NY. The two performances at Historic Catskill Point raised a record-breaking $136,767 for Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The shows featured performances ranging from tap to ballet to contemporary by acclaimed dance.
