The Mabel Mercer Foundation has announced that it will implement a special "Rush" ticket policy for their 2017 Cabaret Convention, to be held at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, from Monday through Thursday, October 16th - 19th.

The discounted admissions will be made available only to those holding either a valid Student ID or a membership card from MAC (the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs).

These same-day Rush tickets will be sold ONLY at the box office, beginning at 10 a.m. on the date of each performance. The box office for the Rose Hall is located on the main floor, Broadway at 60th Street. Tickets must be purchased in person, and there is a limit of two tickets per valid Student ID or MAC Member Card. The offer is good for any remaining seats in the $100, $50, and $25 tiers of the theater, and each ticket is priced at $13.50: $10 for the ticket, plus a $3.50 JALC Facility Fee.

According to artistic director KT Sullivan, "The Mabel Mercer Foundation sees this offer as an extension of our charter, by which we might provide students -- and other performers and musicians -- an affordable opportunity to enjoy the great popular songbook, both traditional and present-day. Mabel Mercer herself reveled in singing both the old and the new across her entire seventy-year career; she never stopped adding contemporary material to her presentations."

Sullivan added, "Our hope is to provide up to fifty seats per concert through this Rush process. The total number available for each performance will depend on the remaining tickets for that date."

This is the twenty-eighth annual Cabaret Convention as presented by The Mabel Mercer Foundation, and the event itself has come to be heralded and regarded as a highlight of the autumn music season in New York City.
