Review: THE BOYS IN THE BAND at The Classic Theatre Of San Antonio
San Antonio: Jill Ripa on June 07, 2024 This play did the most powerful thing that a play can do. It showed us a picture of the truth. The joyous, horrific, wondrous, terrifying, painful truth.
Review: THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM SPELLING BEE at Cain Park Alma Theater

Review: WHAT KEEPS US GOING at The Schoolhouse Theater

Review: LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILL at Pittsburgh CLO Is Brilliant, Hard to Watch
Pittsburgh: Greg Kerestan on June 07, 2024 It's a tale as old as time: the downward spiral of a once-brilliant talent into substance abuse and early death. It's the second half of the 'star is born' template, and it never goes out of style... because it sadly never stops happening in real life. The list is long, with Amy Winehouse as the recent example du jour, but the archetypal musical downfall is legendary jazz vocalist Billie Holiday. Director Tomé Cousin's production of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill is fascinating, beautiful, but also grueling in its unflinching realism.
Review: THE RETURN OF ELVIS DU PISANIE at Theatre On The Bay
South Africa: Faeron Wheeler on June 07, 2024 It's always a pleasure to see a Paul Slabolepzy piece! I'm a huge fan. And THE RETURN OF ELVIS DU PISANIE does not disappoint in any way, shape or form. It is an extraordinary performance by Ashley Dowds and a story with pure heart from Slabolepzy.
Review: 26 PEBBLES at Actors Theatre Of Little Rock
Arkansas: Theresa Bertram on June 07, 2024 Heart wrenching. Intoxicating. Love. Courageous. These performers in 26 PEBBLES with the Actor Theatre of Little Rock put out a powerful performance, and they still have a few more days to go.
Review: ONCE at Roma Musical Theater
Poland: Natalia Jarczynska on June 07, 2024 This review would be awkwardly short but it's extremely difficult to put the feeling into words as this performance shows us how powerful the musical experience can be. I loved of course the lyrics, the plot, the characters, but, oh well, the music here is second to none. Period.

Brighton Fringe Review: BOY BAND, Presuming Ed's
UK / West End: Kat Mokrynski on June 07, 2024 'Boy Band takes audiences into a meeting of the titular group, defined in the show’s description as “a top secret club where boys of any age, gender, and orientation meet in top secret to work on choreo and sing songs of unrequited longing, a celebration of all things squishy.”'
Review: ASHTON CELEBRATED - PROGRAMME 1 at Royal Opera House
UK / West End: Matthew Paluch on June 07, 2024 The Ashton Worldwide (2024-2028) international festival continues at the Royal Opera House with the Royal Ballet on the mainstage in Ashton Celebrated. The company is performing two mixed bills with slight repertoire changes.
Review: WEDDING BAND, Lyric Hammersmith
UK / West End: Cindy Marcolina on June 07, 2024 Interracial marriage has been legal in the United States for less than six decades. To put it into perspective, sliced bread was first sold forty years earlier. Set in 1918 South Carolina, Wedding Band is a blistering portrayal of unjust laws and discrimination, of conscious and unconscious bias, of finding love inside hopeless prejudice. Alice Childress’ American classic describes a Deep South riddled with hatred and stigma, a picture that’s uncomfortably close to a certain party’s opinions and that, sixty years later, remains unfortunately topical. A white baker and a black seamstress defy public opinion in this sombre drama.
Review: THE SPITFIRE GRILL at Broadway Rose
Portland: Krista Garver on June 06, 2024 This well-directed, well-acted musical is about forgiveness, community, the strength of the human spirit, and the power of dreaming big.
Review: STEEL MAGNOLIAS at STAGES St. Louis is as Beautiful as a Louisiana Magnolia Tree in Full Bloom
St. Louis: James Lindhorst on June 06, 2024 For the second year in a row, STAGES St. Louis knocks it out of the park with a non-musical offering. STEEL MAGNOLIAS is a laugh out loud comedy-drama about sisterhood and how friends overcome fear, uncertainty, sadness, and profound grief. Price’s directorial vision, the casts’ exceptional performances, and the ravishing work of the technical team make this production as beautiful as a Louisiana magnolia tree in full June bloom.
Review: TWELFTH NIGHT (OR WHAT YOU WILL) at Attleboro Community Theatre
Rhode Island: Christopher Verleger on June 06, 2024 Attleboro Community Theatre (ACT) brings its 66th season to a close with an amusing, highly entertaining production ‘Twelfth Night (Or What You Will),’ William Shakespeare’s boisterous comedy of mistaken identity, entangled romance, and unapologetic tomfoolery.

Review: THE JAZZ STYLIST OF THE 'INCOMPARABLE SAMARA JOY' at Belk Theater
Charlotte: Vickie Evans on June 06, 2024 There are no adjectives that can effectively describe the level of greatness in which Samara Joy delivers the sounds of Jazz. She is phenomenal and an 'old soul' in a beautiful contemporary body. She is on the frontline of bringing jazz to a new generation of followers.
