As a part of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's efforts to expand original programming into the digital space, the network announced today the "Who Am I" web series on the newly re-launched website Oprah.com as well as youtube.com/own. The Emmy Award-winning digital team behind the "Oprah's Lifeclass" social experience spent over six months with the Youtube Space LA community developing original web content including this new series.

The web series launches with two episodes today, Thursday, August 28, with a new 2-3 minute episode rolling out every Thursday. Oprah.com's daily series #OWNSHOW, which brings together stories from the Oprah community, was also developed during OWN's residency at Youtube Space LA.

"Who Am I" delves into the universal idea of self-identity and what it means to look within oneself for insight to carry through our daily lives. The interview series features celebrity guests sharing the qualities that define who they are and investigates the power of knowing oneself and the positivity that can be drawn from it. "Who Am I" seeks to create a communal experience for its audience and demonstrate the importance of self reflection. Celebrities featured on the web series include Nicole Richie, Brandy, Michelle Phan, Pat O'Brien, Randy Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Jasmine Guy, Vivica A. FOX and AJ Johnson.

According to Omniture, Oprah.com video views increased triple digits in 2Q14 (+112%) vs. one year ago. In addition, video views per visit in 2Q14 were also up vs. one year ago (+90%).

"'Who Am I,' marks OWN's continued development of new media ideas and provides an enhanced viewing experience that connects with our audience wherever they are," said Glenn Kaino, SVP of Digital for OWN. "Collaborating with the team at Youtube Space LA has allowed us to be experimental in our digital development, creating innovative ways to expand the OWN brand."

"The forward-thinking executives from OWN recognized the power of immersing their creative team within the Youtube community," said Liam Collins, head of Youtube Space LA. "The Youtube Spaces exist to facilitate innovation, and it's been great see the team from OWN seize the opportunity to combine their media expertise with insights from Youtube creators to drive new content formats."
