Adult Swim's Prime Time Programming Ranks #1 with Key Demos for Week of 1/28

Adult Swim's weekly Total Day Delivery ranked #1 among all targeted adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34, & 18-49 on basic cable. Compared to the same week in 2012, Total day delivery grew among adults 18-24 by 5%, adults 18-34 by 7%, adults 18-49 by 10%, men 18-24 by 15%, men 18-34 by 15% and men 18-49 by 13%.

Adult Swim ranked #1 on basic cable for Prime Time delivery of adults 18-34 and #5 for adults 18-49. Compared to the same week in 2012, Prime Time delivery grew among adults 18-34 by 10%, adults 18-49 by 9%, and among all key men between 8% and 15%.

A new episode of the original series Robot Chicken (Sunday, 12 a.m.) was #1 in its time period among adults and men 18-24 & 18-34, growing by triple digits across the board, between 128% and 201%, vs. the same time period last year.

Thursday's premiere episode of Newsreaders (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among all adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-34 &18-49, with double-digit growth among adults 18-49 (16%) and men 18-49 (25%).

Adult Swim's programming - including Family Guy, Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force--accounted for 24 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week with adults 18-34, and 30 of the top 50 telecasts with men 18-34, both more than any other network.

Cartoon Network

Across the first week of February 2013, Cartoon Network ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) delivery of boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in Total Day delivery of boys 9-14.

Cartoon Network was Television's #1 destination for all boy demos on Monday Night (7-9 p.m.), while #1 among boys 6-11/9-14 on Tuesday night and #1 among boys 2-11/6-11 on Thursday and Saturday Night.

Among the network's original programming, an all-new episode of Adventure Time (Monday, 7:30 p.m.) was the #1 telecast of the day with boys 2-11/6-11/9-14, and #1 in its time period with all kids, growing by mostly double-digits - between 4% and 24% - among kids and boys vs. the same time period last year. Additionally, the premiere of Regular Show (8 p.m.) was #1 in its timeslot with kids 9-14 and all boys.

The Amazing World of Gumball (Tuesday, 7 p.m.) presented a new episode that scored as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14 and ranked #1 in its timeslot among boys 2-11/6-11.

Thursday night premiere episodes of original series Annoying Orange (7:30 p.m.) and the new live-action sketch comedy show Incredible Crew (8 p.m.) both ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 2-11/6-11. Also, the Saturday morning premiere episodes of Beyblade: Metal Fury (8 a.m.), Pokemon BW: Adventures in Unova (8:30 a.m.), Ben 10: Omniverse (9 a.m.), and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (9:30 a.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14.

TBS

TBS's Cougar Town turned in another consistently solid performance last week, earning 2.5 million viewers and 1.5 million adults 18-49 in Live + 3 delivery for Tuesday's episode. The series also drew 625,000 adults 18-34. Meanwhile, time-shifted viewing has lifted the Jan. 15 episode of Cougar Town to a final Live + 7 tally of 2.8 million viewers, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 and 853,000 adults 18-34.

Last Thursday's episode of the TBS competition series King of the Nerds grabbed 1.8 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with more than 1.1 million adults 18-49 and 572,000 adults 18-34. Meanwhile, King of the Nerds' Jan. 17 series premiere grew to a final tally of 2.4 million viewers, 1.4 million adults 18-49 and 705,000 adults 18-34 in Live + 7 delivery.

The Big Bang Theory on TBS continued to dominate the sitcom rankers last week, scoring all of basic cable's Top 15 sitcom telecasts with total viewers, 14 of the Top 15 with adults 18-49 and 13 of the Top 15 with adults 18-34.

TNT

TNT's Dallas returned for its second season last Monday, and fans have already boosted its premiere audience considerably through early time-shifted viewing. The two-hour season opener has risen to 3.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with key demos growing to more than 1.5 million adults 25-54 and 1.3 million adults 18-49.

With a little more than a week to go before All-Star Weekend, TNT is on pace for the network's third most-viewed NBA season in the last 10 years. This season's coverage has ranked as ad-supported cable's #1 program on Thursday nights among adults 18-34 and men 18-34. The network has also delivered the Top 2 most-viewed NBA games this season and three of the Top 5 games on cable. The NBA on TNT has propelled the network to win Thursday night five times among men 18-34 this season and four times among adults 18-35, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and men 25-54.

TNT's Sports Emmy(R)-winning show Inside the NBA is on pace to net its second highest-rated season in the last 10 years.

truTV

truTV scored a Top 10 ranking in primetime among basic cable networks for the week in the key men 18-49 demographic. truTV also landed a Top 10 spot among basic cable's entertainment networks in primetime delivery of adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. When it comes to the adults 18-49 demo, truTV outranked such networks as Syfy, Comedy Central, Bravo, Spike, AMC, Food Network and TLC. Compared to the same week last year, truTV also grew its primetime deliveries by +8% among total viewers and +6% among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

truTV's Lizard Lick Towing (Monday at 10 p.m.) brought in 2.6 million viewers last week, with 1.5 million adults 18-49 and 812,000 men 18-49. The show ranked as one of basic cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot across the board and garnered triple-digit time-period growth among all key demos compared to a year ago.

truTV's breakout hit Hardcore Pawn (Tuesday at 9 p.m.) delivered a total of 2.9 million viewers last week, ranking as basic cable's #1 unscripted program in the timeslot with total viewers, adults 18-49 (1.4 million) and men 18-49 (681,000). The episode also scored solid demo growth over the prior week, with adults 18-49 up 6% and adults 18-34 (641,000) up 20%.

Hardcore Pawn: Chicago (Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.) drew 2.0 million viewers, with outstanding demo growth compared to last week. The episode averaged 1.1 million adults 18-49 (+19%); 542,000 men 18-49 (+12%); 497,000 adults 18-34 (+48%); and 238,000 men 18-34 (+23%). Hardcore Pawn and Hardcore Pawn: Chicago helped truTV land among basic cable's Top 5 networks with adults 18-49 on Tuesday night and among the Top 10 networks that night with total viewers, adults 18-34 and men 18-34.

NBA TV

Through 12 telecasts, NBA TV's NBA Fan Night presented by Sprint is averaging 492,000 total viewers, up 8% compared with last season's average of 455,000 total viewers for 22 telecasts.
