- January 01, 2019 The Culinary Arts program at Newburgh Free Academy's Main Campus created and decorated a seven-foot nutcracker model out of cake and Rice Krispies Treats for the performance of The Nutcracker, to be performed by the Newburgh Free Academy Dance Department earlier this month. The life-sized nutcracker was made out of dummy cakes (Styrofoam), Rice Krispies Treats, Satin Ice fondant, and Choco-Pan modeling chocolate - donated by Satin Fine Foods of Chester, N.Y. The base materials were provided by the NFA Construction Academy scholars and their teacher, Mr. Chris Cotton.
