- September 11, 2013 The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) opens its traditional production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker on Friday, December 13, at 7:30 PM. Performances of the traditional production continue on Saturday, December 14, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM; and Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 PM. As a special treat this season, the HCD Dance Department also offers the Hartford premiere of Nutty Nutcracker, on Sunday, December 15, at 7:30 PM. Audiences are in for a comical evening with this off-the-wall version of the original Nutcracker.

New York Artist Debbie Davies Exhibits The I Love You Project, 9/14-27 by BWW News Desk
- September 09, 2013 New York artist Debbie Davies & German artist Julius Schön brought 'The I Love You Project' to Berlin during the 48-Hour Neukölln Festival in June 2013 at Schillerpalais Gallery. Now Davies and Schön return to Schillerpalais to exhibit portraits of the participants photographed in the Spring, using a digital microscope camera. Davies will also exhibit her earlier digital microscope self portraits, including some erotica. Paper assemblages from her 'This Page Intentionally Left Blank' series using recycled materials will also be exhibited during this two-person show September 14-27.

- September 09, 2013 To celebrate its 35th anniversary last year, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago commissioned resident choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo to create the company's first evening-length work. The stunning result, One Thousand Pieces, features music by Philip Glass and was inspired by Marc Chagall's America Windows, a work of art created specifically for the Art Institute of Chicago's permanent collection.

Smuin Ballet's Montana tour will play today and tomorrow, September 8 - 9 in Michael Smuin's hometown of Missoula at the Montana Repertory Theatre and September 13 at the Mansfield Theatre, Great Falls.
