- November 10, 2015 The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents the triumphant return of Youssou N'Dour, hailed by Rolling Stone for having 'a voice so extraordinary that the history of Africa seems locked inside it', tonight, November 10 at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. N'Dour, whose songs have been credited with sparking historical social movements, shares his arresting tenor voice and trademark fusion of pop, mbalax and other influential genres with Vancouver audiences for the first time in more than 25 years.

- November 07, 2015 Celebrate Sibelius' 150th Birthday with the Karelia Suite, a tone poem rich with folk melodies and fond memories of his favorite region of Finland. Valse Triste found a welcome home in the world of ballet theater and has been featured in the soundtracks of many films. You'll hear why soloist Roman Rabinovich won the prestigious Rubinstein Piano Competition with this very concerto, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, one of the best-known piano concertos of the 20th century. The concert concludes with what Maestro Arie Lipsky calls “the Perfect Symphony,” Mendelssohn's “Italian” Symphony No. 4, where every shining note is brilliant and right.

- November 06, 2015 To offer fans a more immersive experience, violinist Tim Fain today released a new virtual reality (VR) video for YouTube based on his original composition Resonance. In a close collaboration with Google, the VR video was filmed using Jump (g.co/Jump), which not only gives fans a vivid 360° experience, but also a realistic sense of depth so they can feel like they're actually there. Turn in every direction to enjoy Fain's mesmerizing performance. The VR video is best viewed with a Google Cardboard viewer using the YouTube app available for Android smartphones (iOS coming soon). You can also view the video in non-VR mode on desktop and iOS.

- November 06, 2015 Orange County, Calif.—Nov. 5, 2015—The young and highly talented Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings (PSSS) and Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) are preparing to launch their first concerts of the 2015-16 season. First, the talented brass, woodwind and percussion musicians of PSYWE breeze onto the stage to perform a selection of European classics from the wind ensemble canon on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m., in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
