CRESTWOOD, Ky., July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/  Hammam Adib Hasan, Ph.D., MEd, is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing upon more than 25 years of professional experience, Dr. Hasan serves as an associate professor and faculty senate president with Spalding University. In this position, he is noted for his former experience as a special education teacher with Seattle Public Schools. For more than a decade, Dr. Hasan served the district by overseeing self-contained programs designed for students classified as seriously behaviorally disabled in fourth grade through twelfth grade. He went on to work with the Hawai'i Department of Education in a self-contained high school program for students who were classified as emotionally disabled. Long before pursuing a career as an educator, Dr. Hasan was positively influenced by his parents, who have both received master's degrees. As a young child, Dr. Hasan would visit college campuses with his father, who aimed to show Dr. Hasan the importance of hard work while pursuing a college education. Dr. Hasan went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Washington State University in 1971. He also attended the University of Washington, where he completed a Master of Education in 1983 and Ph.D. in 1997. Since then, Dr. Hasan has received certification in teaching from the Hawai'i Department of Education and Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.

Dr. Hasan maintains involvement with a variety of academic organizations, including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Phi Delta Kappa, Council for Exceptional Children and Phi Sigma Kappa. He has also worked with a special education teacher in preparing programs of Eastern Michigan University and the University of Washington. In recognition of his ongoing contributions to the field of education, Dr. Hasan was recently named a Top Educator by Marquis Who's Who. He was previously selected for inclusion in the 64th through 67th editions of Who's Who in America.

A respected voice in the educational community, Dr. Hasan is credited with the creation of the Project Hydroplane Racing Program, which was designed to encourage students of all ages and backgrounds to gain and maintain an interest in school and learning.
