Brisbane’s 8-piece folk rock juggernaut The Good Ship reveal their latest creation – a stage work entitled The Seven Seas. Expanded from the band’s song of the same name, The Seven Seas tells of a boy looking to exact revenge upon the sea for the deaths of his father and brother by conquering her in all her might. But what will he lose to do so? And why is the storyteller so forthright in telling his tale?
Collaborating with acclaimed performer and singer Sandro Colarelli and featuring the beautiful animation of Brett Harris, The Seven Seas brings to life a new suite of story-songs along with wry reworkings of two of the band’s live favourites. Director Kat Henry brings these strands together to form an engaging and compelling new whole. The result will be a show like no other from The Good Ship – intimate, reflective and immersive but still with all the heart and dynamics of the incredible live shows for which they are known and loved.
