The Halalisa Singers, a world music vocal ensemble presents Over the Sea to Skye:  Songs from Celtic Lands, on Saturday, January 9, 8:00 pm, at First Parish in Lexington, 7 Harrington Road, and on Sunday January 10, 3 pm at Memorial Church, 26 Concord Road, Sudbury.  The ensemble is led by Artistic Director Mary Cunningham and accompanied by Trevor Berens, piano; Ellery Klein, fiddle; Linda LaSalle, harp; and Berit Strong, guitar.

The first of three world premieres scheduled in Merrimack Repertory Theatre's 2015-16 Season is set to open early next month. THE WHITE CHIP is a dark comedy about the science of addiction written by Sean Daniels, MRT's Artistic Director and is based on his own struggles with alcoholism and path to recovery. The autobiographical story will be produced with a creative team that features an impressive list of artists who have many Broadway credits and a total of seven Tony Award nominations and one win between them.

Co-written by Louis Greenstein and its star Kate Ferber, it grew out of Ferber's own adoration of Nyro since childhood and blossomed into a genuine tribute by including testimonials from a variety of fictional "Nyrotics" whose lives were impacted by the late singer-songwriter.

Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) presents 'Tis the Season!, an upbeat, jazzy extravaganza featuring members of the Kenny Hadley Big Band, with contemporary arrangements of favorite holiday classics in musical styles ranging from R&B, Motown and gospel to pop, jazz and Broadway. Performances are Saturday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 20 at 2 p.m. at the Franklin High School auditorium, 218 Oak Street. First staged by FPAC in 1995, 'Tis the Season! returns with a large cast of area performers to entertain audiences with great merriment, fanfare and fun. Musical arrangements include Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and "Happy Holiday," Quincy Jones' sensational version of the "Hallelujah Chorus," songs from several popular television holiday specials, and many surprises.
