Seeing a show's first performance after the Tonys is one of my new favorite things to do- the electricity in the theatre is so amazing. Just curious as to what everyone's going to be seeing on Tuesday. I'll be at HAIR (bought tix the second week of May), can't wait!
ps- for anyone going to WSS I would be curious to hear if Karen receives entrance applause, please.
Can't get down on Tuesday, but Saturday I'll be seeing "Hair." That performance took a "we'll see what's at TKTS" to "we have to see this" even if we're in the nosebleeds.
I was lucky to win the Hair lotto the other day, and yes it is a must see.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
Im gonna try for Blithe Spirit... been wanting to for sometime an just cant wait. Already made a not good choice Im regretting with August.
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler
That's part of the thrill of attending the first post-Tony performance. The electricity in the air, and the additional acknowledgement for the winners.
Entrance applause is absolutely acceptable, and appropriate. Especially on 'Tony Tuesday'.
