Jo Anne was nicer to me at the stage door than anyone else, with maybe the exception of Raul. I have a hard time seeing it when people talk about her making demands in Drowsy.
She was delightful in FOLLIES and beyond kind at the stage door. Broadway would be lucky to have her as a regular performer on the boards.

Could someone please explain to me Jo Anne Worley's whole act? I never saw her TV show, and I never saw her in DROWSY.
All I know is that she is always pictured with her dog, she always wears a dark black wig, pearls, and often chop sticks in her cheeks.

She'll be terrific in "Wicked." She's a very, very nice lady. I did "Mame" with her, here in LA back in 1989. By the time we were in production of the show, she would fly out to NYC to rehearse "Prince Of Central Park," and come back on the weekends to do "Mame."
I was in NYC the week after we closed in "Mame," and Jo Anne let me come and watch a final dress rehearsal of "Prince." Clearly not the greatest show in the world - and, she knew that. But, she made the best of the situation and had a great time.
I've run into her a few times throughout the years at various theatres here in LA, and she always says hello to me. A very, very nice lady.

"Would she demand that they change the costumes for her, too?"
Ms. Worley NEVER demands. She is a total professional and quite lovely to work with.
But I know she would love the costumes if they were in red and had a feather boa that went with them.

Well, now we know it's true, I'm going to try and see her in the role. I think she is great. Sure she has an outstanding personality that gets worked into the role. That is part of her charm. One could easily say the same for Georgia Engel too!
JoAnne would look ridiculous in Georgia's costumes in Drowsy. I'm just happy she found something on the West Coast that I would want to see!
