Ok, I know I couldn't have been the only one who sang along to the HAIRSPRAY film. I didn't sing all the way through, just during Seaweed's parts! I guess I've just been bottled up with so much excitement this week, I couldn't do anything BUT sing! IT WAS THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD AT THE MOVIES EVER!!!!!!!!
as much as i appreciate people loving this movie and havin fun... i hated the people who sang with it at my show... i came to hear the people on the screen sing... not a group of kids!!! it was rather annoying!
I haven't seen it yet, but I will definitely resist the urge to sing along out of respect for the other people there. Nobody is paying to hear me sing and ruin the movie.
Well, I didn't sing along, but I got to admit.....watching that amazing choreography during YCSTB, as corny as it sounds, I really did want to get up and dance. Seriously. I was having such a good time. Maybe if, or should I say when, I see it again I'll sing along. :)
Um, I'm not trying to sound rude, but if you were sitting next to me, I'd be rather irritated that you were singing.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I rocked out, not really singing. I was surprised that more people hadn't carried a tune. And it seemed like a lot of people never saw the play. Now I have to get the soundtrack, as they added a few more songs.
I mouthed along. It was difficult not to. But because I try not to be an obnoxious c*** of an audience member, I didn't make a single sound as I did so. :P
My audience was commenting and laughing up a storm. They loved it. When one girl started singing in the beginning, I audibly said "Oh $h!t!" and she stopped. If I can keep myself from singing, anyone can.
A teeny bit, just during my favorite parts (especially "there's a struggle STRUGGLE we have yet to win).
But everyone knew the show, everyone knew what was going on. There were current and former cast members of the show there. I say let them sing, as long as it's low. The credits turned into a full sing a-long.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
I couldn't help it! but I wasnt loud .. I was singing to myself. The screening I went to was dead! there were less than 10 people in this 200 seat theatre.
I managed to restrain myself. My friend with me didn't. At the end, during the credits, we did sing Mama I'm a Big Girl Now, but there were only like 5 people left and they were all singing too.
