WOW! This came out of nowhere. Wonder what theater this will take?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It was scheduled for the West End with an adaptation by Frank McGuinness, but I guess since it got rescheduled, they opted to play NYC with Amy Herzog’s new adaptation instead.

Very exciting news. She’ll be brilliant.

Ambassador Theatre Group is producing, so I would expect it's the Hudson after Death of a Salesman wraps up.

Yes!!! Could not be more excited about this!Well, I guess I could, considering I’m not the biggest fan of A Doll’s House, but for Chastain and Lloyd, I’m right as rain. I was disappointed at the prospect of missing this on the West End, and here we are!

With so many theatres seemingly available, I do wonder why they don’t just go ahead and announce their theatre. Unless they’re going into a theatre of a show that has yet to announce closing? (Circle in the Square? Kerr? O’Neill? Maybe the Belasco, since the rumor is Oscar is switching theatres?)

The Hudson is a good theory too, but again I wonder why they don’t just announce. Maybe Friedman is waiting to see if she can get Merrily in there instead?

This is a huge "get."

Curious how she will fare onstage, as a lot of people didn't like her in THE HEIRESS. But Jamie Lloyd is a better director than Moises Kaufman, and she's had 10 years to grow as an actress.

She had a handful of stage credits before that, so at least she’s no novice. Although she clearly didn’t make much of an impression on Brantley, who barely mentions her in any of his reviews before The Heiress (I looked them up out of curiosity)

So excited. I think I had tickets for this a couple years ago and just chalked it up to another theatrical Covid casualty that would never happen.

Wow the Tonys for Best Actress in a play just got interesting.  Academy award winner  vs. Emmy Award Winner vs. Olivier Award winner.  It will be a bloodbath.

I think Meryl Streep could come in and give the performance of her career in a new play this season and the Tony will still go to Comer.

The competition for Best Actress in a Play may be getting pretty intense for this season, but the move to bring in a revival of A Doll's House is pretty smart at the moment, considering there are only three other confirmed play revivals this season: Death of a SalesmanThe Piano Lesson, and Topdog/Underdog.

Though I'm admittedly not sure whether Cost of LivingOhio State Murders, and Between Riverside or Crazy will be considered for Best Play or Revival of a Play, the category remains less dense than Best Play, which has at least 11 confirmed contenders at the moment (Ain't No Mo', A Christmas Carol, The Collaboration, Good Night, Oscar, The Kite Runner, Leopoldstadt, Life of Pi, Pictures From Home, Prima Facie, Summer, 1976, and The Thanksgiving Play).

A bit odd that a man is directing this revival, but either way I'd put A Doll's House up there with Hamlet as one of the best, most historically significant classics out there. Curious to see Herzog's translation/adaptation. It will be nice to have a high-profile one written by an American for future productions.

Chastain was not good in The Heiress. She disappeared on stage. But she looked smashing in her costume.

I would expect a great actor, not a star, for Torvald. Chastain is enough of an event, and it was announced with just her. Another big actor is probably going to be a waste of money. Maybe someone who WILL be a big star someday. But not Oscar Isaac or Bryan Cranston or Adam Driver or anyone like that.
