With surprisingly all the shows opening back within two months of each other. Im not sure how it will survive with our major tourism and stunt casting. Im curious who people think will be brought in
Obviously Chicago will continue with it Im thinking theyll bring like a Spice Girl,Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Phantom. I think they are going to bring back Sierra Boggess, Ramin Karimloo, Norm Lewis Hamilton I think Lin will be back for like a Christmas 6 week run Come From Away. Jenn will probably open for a run Little Shop - Jonathan Groff, Jeremy Jordan If Company extends. I could see Anne Hathaway coming in Moulin Rouge - Nicole sherizinger, I wonder if brendon urie would entertain a return as Christian If Tommy is still planned it wouldnt surprise me if they got someone like Harry Styles to lead it Mockingbird - someone like TImothee Chalamet or Daniel day Lewis. Jagged little pill - Sherie Ren Scott or idina Menzel
It also wouldnt surprise me in the next 15 months of broadway being open we see Bernadette Peters, Ian McKellan, Alice Ripley return.

Imagine Idina Menzel replacing in a show she workshopped 5 years ago. I'd cut off my left arm before believing she would do such a thing. They couldn't afford her anyway.
These do seem like feasible possibilities from your list that I agree with, but stunt casting implies the actor is a draw outside Broadway and has a big impact on sales, so I'm not sure how effective any would truly be. They'd only be interesting to a relatively niche group. Then again, the collateral publicity might be worth it in the long run in certain cases (vis a vis Hamilton)?
Phantom - Sierra, Norm
Hamilton - LMM, but I doubt they'll need sales help?
Chicago - literally anyone, they do not care, probably another Real Housewife or Bachelor/Bachelorette
While I believe he has one more performance in him, Daniel Day-Lewis is currently retired from acting. Making his chances of starting in To Kill a Mockingbird even less likely, he hasn’t done a stage performance in decades since he got burnt out while playing Hamlet. He had said he saw his real life father’s ghost at the time, though he’s since downplayed that claim. Anyway, he’s obviously be a great Atticus, but it won’t happen.
People I would like to see cast in a Broadway/Off-Broadway show (musical or otherwise) as stunt casting: Reese Witherspoon, Anna Kendrick (obvi), Zendaya, Kate Winslet, Kristen Bell, John Boyega, Henry Golding, Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Kaluuya.
I have no freaking clue what show any of them would be right for, though, if we're talking shows we already know about. (And I'm too tired to figure it out.)

Was just about to say the same thing! The Spice Girls in Chicago is stunt casting. Jenn Collela returning to CFA is in not. For it to be stunt casting, the person actually has to be famous. Sierra Boggess, Norm Lewis, Jenn Colella, James Monroe Iglehart, Sherie Renee Scott - these people are not famous outside of the small theatre bubble. They don't sell tickets in any way that's meaningful to the bottom line.

Just to clarify your wording, for people who don't know: he quit stage acting WHILE playing Hamlet - literally. He walked offstage in the MIDDLE OF A PERFORMANCE and hasn't performed onstage since.
Assuming that Nick Jonas Jersey Boys stream is happening, I could see him going into the show for a bit (it would certainly fill up New World Stages quickly)!

In terms of “hugely under equipped for the demands but I’d love to see it anyway” stunt casting, I can imagine Kenan Thompson as the Genie being a draw. He can’t tap dance and I’d be shocked if he could do a flip, but he’s the MVP of SNL for decades now and he can sing better than Robin Williams if not better than Iglehart.

I briefly considered Idina Menzel for JLP because she DID do the workshop. It would be interesting if she came in for a limited run while Elizabeth Stanley is out.
