So you took the insult personally as opposed to who it was actually aimed at? Maybe if the generalization doesn't apply to you may be don't respond to it?

" So you are at best in your 60s. You are completely out of touch with reality. "We saved so our daughters could go to college without debt!" Which means your daughters are probably late 30 early 40s... Again from a different time. You seem to think the world works the exact same way it did when you grew up, but it does not. Quit burying your head in the sand... "

You can't assume things -lol. I had children later in life so my daughters (my wife is 5 years younger than me) are 31 and 29. I have acknowledged how I got my start in IT could not happen today which is sad in a way. I took aptitude test that bank gave everyone the opportunity to take and the highest mark got the job, that was me. Trade schools costs on average around $34,000, four year degree can be over $100,000. Am I burying my head in the sand to say maybe more people should try trade school instead of a useless degree. I looked up how much Appalachian State University cost (in state) now in comparison to when my oldest daughter graduated. I would say it is now about roughly $3,500 a year more. My youngest went to Florida State University and it is harder to figure out because she got scholarships (dance & grades) that were roughly 1/2 off the cost of normal out of state student. In addition she graduated in 3 1/2 years.

Anyway, enjoy living life being angry and thinking you got screwed by older generation. I wonder if your parents agree with you, just curious -lol.

" Is that so?  This life-long Democrat?  Someone who has voted for every single Democratic candidate and initiative since 1968?  The guy who time and again here has stated his support for Joe Biden, our next President?  The veteran who has voiced his disgust of the draft dodger who currently occupies the Oval Office?  I guess you know me better than I know myself.  Show me where I have indicated that I am "voting for policies to bankrupt the middle class".  Go ahead.  SHOW ME.

Very simple, "Theaterfan4" can't show you. I may not agree with you but you have consistently posted things you have mentioned above.

I have to be honest.  Considering the President is elected on a state by state basis, the electoral college, I do not see any possibility of Trump losing this year.  His popularity is as high or higher than Obama at this period in his presidency.  Plus, 60% of those polled like the job he is doing on Coronavirus.  But more importantly, there is no reliable evidence that the states will reverse their votes of 2016.  The uphill battle for the Democrats is that they literally wasted more than 3 years dreaming up foolish schemes to impeach Trump rather than working hard to offer America a positive vision and new programs.  And of of course Pelosi is an embarrassment.  To undo all that damage is a tall order.  And having a presidential candidate who suffers from some kind of a memory problem does not help.  And finally, the great job Trump has done with the economy bodes well in his favor.  And I feel that any attempt to tie Trump to the coronavirus outbreak will not work.  It actually may backfire since so many people are thankful for the job he has done in mobilizing the medical and business communities to counter the disease.   I voted for Obama; but today's Democrats turn me off like millions of others.  I want to see an America where people have prosperity and good jobs, and enough money to pay their mortgage and put food on the table for their kids.

SURE you voted for Obama.

Anyway, let's just continue talking about this like it's an academic exercise whilst in the midst of a world-wide pandemic in which 100-200,000 Americans are likely to die.

OKAY?

Ever think the majority of the country would think you are a ****ing idiot? Once again, you show no tolerance for people who do not think like you. I know you don't care about tolerance, just thought I would mention it again. Try to imagine a Trump supporter saying a bunch of you who are liberal are a bunch of ****ing idiots. Boy, would this board explode - lol.

Well there were over 60 million people who voted for him so there is a whole lot of human garbage and brainless people in your opinion. Once again, Democrats always preach tolerance and then make comments like yours. Must be nice to be you and so superior in intellect than almost half the country. Congratulations !!!

BTW - I posted a thread about a very nice moment that happened to old HS classmate of mine when President Obama was in office. Not one person has responded yet to the thread, I guess nice story does not sell but people calling each other names does which is sad.

Just as a point of information, I’ve been a libertarian my entire adult life. The only Democrat I’ve ever voted for was Hilary Clinton, and that was precisely because she was running against Trump.

You just posted it very late last night. People are still probably gettting over the shock of you saying something kind about a Democrat. But it was nice for just a brief moment to think back to a time when we has a classy president we could be proud of and not some nasty, profane piece of garbage who probably would have commented instead to her son about how she wasn't a 10 and he would never screw her. So THANK YOU for that pleasant trip down memory lane.

What a load of crap. I don't know any Democrat who preaches tolerance for racism, misogyny, and complete incompetence.

If you still support Trump at this point, you're not only a moron you're a dangerous moron.

Using an insult on a message board is not being intolerant. Intolerant is taking away someone's rights that you disagree with because of their race, religion, or creed.

This is an example of the discourse that may well have played a big part in Trump being elected.  And it's the same like-mindedness that may well lead to the re-election of Trump.

Yankeefan, you are on a theater message board so 99% of the people will be Liberal Democrats, that's just the truth. I used to be very intolerant to Republicans, and shut them down immediately. I realized that was wrong and ignorant of me, so I always take the time to hear them out. Always. I have been on quite a journey these past four years to figure out the reasons why people voted for 45 because I could not understand at first.

I visited my extended family for the first time in many years in 2018. It was a family reunion and it was held in Kansas. I was raised and still live in the North East. It freaked me out to believe that I could be related to people that voted for him, who support him still. They are polite, lovely, hard working people. They refuse to talk about religion or politics, but the one thing my cousin said to me was "We don't like the way he treats people, but as long as I can put food on my table at the end of the day, that is all that matters". I finally got it and stopped thinking about it for quite some time. I respected their answer and realized that for millions of people, that is all they care about. These are simple people, and that's okay.

Trump is a rapist. Trump is a racist. Trump hates everyone including himself. He throws tantrums and it not mentally fit to be in charge of 4th grade recess. His voters knows these things, they just do not care. As frustrating as that can be for people who truly DO care about them, not everyone is going to think like me or have my priorities. But, defending him on here will get you nowhere, and it's like screaming into a brick wall. But, if you want to continue wasting your time, to each their own.

I hope Biden has not gotten lost in this sudden turmoil we have found ourselves in. Trump is getting so much screen time with his daily reports from the White House. Some of them are lasting longer than part 1 of The Inheritance. And Biden cannot hold any rallies.

I think Trump is going to paint Biden as a doddering old man and he will get a lot of mileage out of it.

BTW I am not voting for Trump. It is just an observation.

A good president surrounds himself with really good people and has a fully staffed administration. He or she listens to the experts and makes decisions accordingly. Biden needs to make that clear to the voters.

Kamala Harris was on TV tonight. I had forgotten how verbose she is and the energy she projects. If Biden were younger I think he would have an easier time of it. As it stands, if the wind came up it looks like Biden would topple over where Trump‘s hair might flip but he would remain standing...

Yes it is OK and it is certainly reasonable to be concerned about that. But I wonder what they would have said if you asked them if Trump wasn't president, do they still feel they would be able to put food on the table and feed their family. Since we came out of the 2009 recession the economy and the stock market along with it have been growing steadily. Obama handed Trump a thriving, expanding economy. Yet somehow Trump has created this mythology that the economy was in a tailspin and he singlehandedly rescued it from a dramatic slide. It's a load of BS of course, but obviously there is no way to show what job growth would have been under Hillary so Trump has exploited this to its maximum potential with his base who have swallowed it hook, line and sinker. They genuinely believe Trump rescued the economy.

No one can question the economy has continued to grow and is very strong with new jobs being created and unemployment low (until the last few weeks of course) but Trump's singular economic accomplishment, the tax cut where billions went to corporations to create new jobs was largely used instead for stock repurchases to make earnings stronger and for higher executive bonuses which were triggered by higher earnings per share courtesy of those stock repurchases. There is very little evidence that the job growth occurring after the tax cuts would not have still occurred without them. And with last year's disastrous tariff war with China and other countries, if your family is in farming or knows people who are, it would be interesting to see if their opinion has changed. The economy is all Trump has and somehow Democrats need to break through the myth that Trump "fixed" a broken economy.

Trump is a racist and rapist. Those that voted for him see those qualities as acceptable.

That being said, Joe Biden is also a segregationist and raped Tara Reade as well as assaulted at least 7 other women, but no one wants to talk about that.
