At times, I couldn't tell which was Sherry or the fan. They really did look like sisters. I believe the top three will be Gigi, Jada and Crystal. And Crystal will take the win. She is the one who has steadily improved each week and complied with any critique. Although Gigi and Jada are both talented, neither has a wow factor about them. And Gigi can thank her mother for her costumes, which have really helped her in the competition. Crystal doesn't have a wow factor about her either, but she stands out from the other two in uniqueness. Of course, the only one I would go see perform is Heidi. I like her personality and she makes me laugh.
(repeating what I just posted in the Celebrity Drag Race thread)-
Did we really need 3 1/2 hours of straight women getting done up in Drag? BOTH shows suddenly figured that straight women in drag is somehow actually drag-- guess what-- it ain't! I'm so over their need to push drag queens back into the role of best friend to coach straight folk in life issues. I don't need yet another iteration of PRISCILLA or TO WONG FOO... Let's please get back to drag being a sport of GAY MEN and TRANS folk breaking all the rules. Dressing Vanessa Williams up in fancy wigs and makeup-- what the hell kind of revolution is THAT?
Of course now you’re not allowed to say that drag queens are men who dress as women because that’s not inclusive. And I’m sorry but it’s f*cking absurd. There’s nothing wrong (in theory) with straight girls who love drag queens who shout “yaaas” and “hunty” at their kids while they do their math homework but putting extra makeup on them and exaggerating their features doesn’t make them a drag queen. And don't get me started with this “Bio Queen” bullsh*t.
Yup. For me Drag Queens can be anyone transgressive about their sexuality-- Lea DeLaria could be an awesome drag queen too. What's necessary is it's gotta break the rules somehow. Dressing up straight women in more makeup and chacha heels just gives them permission to be Halloween-costume sluts, which is as far from real drag as you can get.

I get your view of gays having the role of best friend to coach straight people in life issues with WONG FOO, but how exact does that apply to PRISCILLA? Are you referring to the movie or the musical?

Agreed, they are completely different beasts. Priscilla has credibility, Foo has none.
If I recall correctly, PRISCILLA (both the film and the musical) was still about drag queens out in the boonies making straight folks feel good about themselves. Could be I misremember though.

Yes, at night, and then they wake up to "Aids F'rs go home" spray painted on their bus. And one ends up getting gay bashed and almost killed. Few straight lives were changed
Great episode. Crystal deserved the win, but I'm glad it was Jaida who took it over anyone else. She's been insanely good since week one and I'm happy she's tied with Gigi and Sherrie for wins.
Sherrie's runway was amazing. Whoops.
The bottom lpsync was full of so much love and joy and I'm so glad both dolls were safe.
For me, Jaida and Crystal are two of the biggest surprises to ever come out of the show. Two queens who upon first look I didn’t think they’d make it very far at all and are now forces to be reckoned with. Love them both so so much.

Apart from the aboriginal community they came across in the desert, one of whom may have been gay themselves, they encountered adversity wherever they went and I don't think actually changed anyones mind other than those viewing the film. Even the major performance they travelled to is met with a big pile of meh.
So yes you are definitely 'recalling' incorrectly.
Crystal was LONG overdue for a win. I too would love to see her win the whole thing.

Sorry guys— I’m not drinking your Crystal koolaid here. I found her fitness trainer shtick sort of funny but not much to do with drag. Then her runway is all about CLOWN and again Not anything to do with the soul of drag as I see it. Jackie Cox aced the challenge In pure drag queen terms— I don’t get why Ru has yet to reward her with a maxi-win. I assume it’s pre-ordained that Jackie will sashay away next week.
I like Jackie, but I still don't know who she is, and I don't think she's lived up to her potential yet. On the other hand, Crystal's aesthetic is clear, and, for what she is, she's acing it. Not to mention the fact that I don't think I've seen a nicer queen on the show, and I love to see that kind of positivity rewarded.
Jackie was very good in the challenge this week and I absolutely cannot stand her, but her runway was awful which is probably what gave Crystal the advantage.
I love Crystal and for me she is the winner. She is fun, original and screams star.
Gigi has been very average the last few weeks and clearly not the 'allrounder' she appeared to be early on. As good as Jada is, we've seen everything she has to offer many times before. She is not 'the next drag superstar', she is too generic. Jackie is not even in the event and Sherry is disqualified.
I shed a tear, also. Ru's parting words to her and also what Heidi said as she left struck me as so kind and genuine and I'm really excited for what's in store for her - and she OBVIOUSLY is Miss Congeniality this year, I mean that's "crystal" clear.

I think along with Chi Chi and Monique, she is one of my faves of the entire franchise.
