Reflecting on Alex Newell not getting the Tony nom  May 7 2018, 12:20:43 AM
The night I saw the show Alex was very much in ariana grande school of singing. Lots of vocal pyrotechnics, could not tell you a SINGLE lyric they sing.

We truly lost a legend and an artist today. I certainly hope they dim the lights for her.

JERRY SPRINGER TONIGHT CANCELLED  Feb 11 2018, 10:11:24 AM
Typically Off-Broadway productions don't hire understudies until an extension happens. So yes it's unfortunate, but they can't know someone is going to be sick or injured in advance.

Disney BUILD A CASTLE BUILD A CASTLE  Feb 5 2018, 02:40:40 PM
People have to got the calm down over the set of Frozen. They literally blew out the back wall of the theater to accommodate it, so I am sure it will be perfectly fine.

THE CHILDREN Previews  Dec 11 2017, 12:01:14 AM
Damn did I see this show at Mtc tonight?

A show that by all accounts should have been at BAM or St. Anne's. What a risk, and one that pays off.

How refreshing it is to see a play with such depth and breath that is so perfectly performed.

If you are in the under 30 program you must must must see this play. These ideas and conflicts are coming right down the pipeline.

The people who don't enjoy this play or at the very least don't see it's merits. *Cough After8

Riedel on Frozen with costume designs  Aug 11 2017, 03:23:06 PM

Alright the boards have spoken

Two drawings they don't like of costumes for a show that hasn't even started previews out of town. Yup, just SHUT the whole thing down.

A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 Extends to January 2018  Jun 5 2017, 07:23:54 PM

Fantastic news!

Can't wait to see who else they have lined up for Nora. And fingers crossed Laurie walks away with a Tony on Sunday night.

CFA now the favorite for Tony?  Jun 5 2017, 07:18:21 PM

"If you do a good deed, that's wonderful. But endlessly blowing your own horn about it is anything but."

You do realize that the people you saw on stage aren't the real people they are talking about in the story right? That it is a story on stage? You get that right?

Riedel on the current season  Apr 5 2017, 02:12:29 PM

It's important to remember that with the exception of New Musical, Book, and Score (I believe that's it) we have some really strong contenders in the revival catagory that could throw a wrench into some of these new musicals chances.

A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 previews  Apr 4 2017, 01:52:36 PM

I don't think one would need to do an in-depth study of "A Doll's House" to enjoy the play, but certainly reading the Wikipedia before going in would help.

SUNDAY IN THE PARK withdraws from Tony Eligibility  Feb 3 2017, 12:44:22 PM

Awards a giant political game, and Sunday has never been an award darling.

Look at the season and what it can be considered for win.

Revival: Hello Dolly and Sunset

Leading Actor: Everyone agrees it's Ben's year.

Leading Actress: Annaleigh Ashford recent winner up against every major Diva

Technical awards: The show has already closed.

So yeah why potentially give up thousands of dollars worth of seats, s

Great Comet Digital Lottery  Oct 25 2016, 02:46:54 PM

I know people at this point who have just created separate Twitter accounts just so they can enter lotteries and up their chances without having to flood their actual timelines with that info.

Thank you, from American Psycho  May 29 2016, 09:43:41 PM

What an amazing show that sadly was cut short in it's prime, and I certainly encourage anyone who is a fan of this show to report any negative behavior on this thread *cough cough Liza cough cough* because we should be able to celebrate show we loved in peace without having to worry about people spewing troll negativity all over the board.

Alice Ripley - 2016  Mar 30 2016, 12:54:02 PM

"There  are no small roles, only small actors."

And this is certainly fitting of Ripley in Psycho every time she appeared on stage my eyes went right to her. It reminds me of a quote from the TV show Sling in Arrows: This is the life of an actress. You play the Ingénues, you play the Queens, you play the dreaded Nurse, then you retire..."

I think there are still plenty of Queens ahead for Ripley she just making a stop in an exciting new musi

known to have played?  Mar 29 2016, 09:45:49 PM

Sherie Rene Scott replaced Idina in Rent and Norbert Leo Butz replaced Adam Pascal. Maybe not forgotten, but I always thought it was a fun fact.

Lupita N'Yongo will not be doing any Wednesday evening performances starting 3/9  Mar 2 2016, 11:21:29 PM

Don't be deceived by the role's name.

The Robber Bridegroom (Previews)  Feb 26 2016, 01:05:46 PM

90 min of pure joy and fun! The ladies of Broadway are luck that Leslie is off-Broadway giving this performance because I would inscribing that Tony for her now if I had the chance, hands down on the best comedic turns in musical I have seen in a good long while. Oh that band! Those are some hot musicians up on that stage.

@GreasedLightning I was in row M on the far right last night and was able to see everything perfectly.

Hillary's response to George Takei's invitation  Jan 24 2016, 11:16:37 AM

Using that logic I guess as a man who wants to marry a man I can't admire Obama either, because he didn't support gay marriage until after he was was elected a second time.
