Agreed. The way people are talking about this number I was expecting something along the lines of "Model Behavior" from Women on the Verge, but then it was just a solo song in one location. The whole affair was very disappointing.

Mess? This happens all the time when shows aren't replacing leads right before starting previews. I get that someone people want to be able to claim they saw a show first, but this is exactly why I bought tickets for next weekend. Because delaying the first couple of previews happens.

At intermission now. The story is lame, and script does not treat it's female characters well. The way the kids in the audience are reacting you'd think we were at a rock concert.
Wow, I was so excited for this production, and what a let down.
Sam Gold has truly managed to suck any tension, sakes, or humor that are all to be found in Lear, and has replaced them all with basic stage pictures and a "score" by Philip Glass.

If you wanna see it you are gonna need to pony up the $40. You don't get cheaper tickets just because you feel like you should.

The plot is literally just following star crossed lovers with a little mistaken identity thrown in the mix. Don’t worry it ain’t that deep or complicated.
It'll play the Lyceum in February, March at the latest and close after not winning any major awards.

Years ago I was an revival of "Lost in Yonkers" at intermission I was talking to a friend of mine involved in the production and I told her "I'm really enjoying the show, but the older gentleman next to me is LIVING for it." To which she replied "Oh that's good. That Neil Simon!"
