It’s just kind of what sets this show apart from others, it’s an interesting thing that they let them do and it’s fun to watch all the different alternates and the way the cast members interact with the audience. It’s also been an amazing way of free advertisement for the show. It’s not super important like we’ll never support the show again but it’s a little disappointing

It just reminds me of the sad people who go to concerts and sit there filming the whole thing or broadcasting it live on their Facebook accounts.

No boo. YOU need to get a life. Putting so much thought and energy into what others want to do.

Anyway,

The show lived up to every single expectation I had. The costumes look a lot better in person than they do in photograph. For anyone who has seen the London production there are a couple dialogue additions and changes that work perfectly (and they add a little bit of length to the show).

There was a standing ovation after “I Don’t Need Your Love” which was well justified. Abby’s “Heart of Stone” was beautiful. I was in the front row, and a single tear fell from her cheek which set me OFF.

I’m not sure if this is in the original production but the “costume reveal” during Get Down had the entire audience gaggiiiiinnnngggg in excitement.

The audience was a mix of every single age possible and I recognized a couple critics. I don’t anticipate that they will make many changes in previews but I definitely think it’ll be sweeping up a bunch of Tonys.

To quickly answer your question, that costume reveal during “Get Down” is not in the UK version.

So as for the show, I loved it. I mean, my minor critiques are unavoidable and unless you saw it in the UK, I doubt they’d even register. A super fun night with an all around stellar cast and an audience that loved it (I wish the people around me had loved it a little less because I hate that screeching people do now to get noticed) so I’m thrilled that the Queens have arrived on Broadway in all their royal glory.

I’ve burnt a (digital) hole into that soundtrack and as amazing as it is, it DOES NOT compare to seeing the production life the women put their soul into each role. Every time a queen sung I thought “Damn, she was better than the last.. and the last was ****ing amazing “

Another note is that Andrea’s comedic timing is perfect. There are points where she was not even in the spotlight and she was stealing the show.

Pretty sure that Megasix on twitter was a no no BUT I am glad to see it because have the lights on the set always been THAT good looking?! Like the way the LED lights move and pulsate to the beat is just fantastic. I feel like that's new to the design. That or I've never noticed it before in any other Megasix.

No they haven't always looked that good, it's definitely a much improved version of the original lighting.

It looks amazing!

I know I’m the target demographic (14 year old theater kid) but I thought it was great. It absolutely has mass appeal: all the old people around me were loving it.
(Yes there were old people- it’s not me thinking millennials are old haha.)

lol don’t be talking smack about my millennials SIX - Preview Thread

jk. But I 100 agree. That’s the reason I think this has been so successful globally - it can appeal to ANY age as opposed to something like Be More Chill.

I’m 41 and love this show. Seen it multiple times already and the difference between this and “Be More Chill” is that ”Six” is actually good, no a GREAT show and written by capable authors.

Spoiler alert, it's possible to be fans of both shows. Don't need to **** on BMC to raise Six up.

There were a ton of cameras blatantly out in the mezzanine during the Megasix and the ushers did not do a thing.

The costumes were all re-designed a bit and remade for this version, they look fantastic! :)

1. It's called MegaSix. Don't be pretentious and rude if you can't even be correct. As someone who has recorded several from the front row (and had Parr grab my phone once), it's very fun and thrilling.

2. Okay, boomer

The lighting looks absolutely stunning. The spotlights look great. Cleves definitely did a "reveal" when I saw the show, so it's being implemented in other productions. I can't wait to see the Broadway cast!

ggersten said: "Mister Matt said: "90 minute one-act plays don't do more than 8 shows a week and this show is more demanding than that. And then there is the cost. Actors, crews and musician get paid per performance, not per hour. Increase the number of performances and your expenses rise. And how are you going to contract the performers on varying schedules? It's a legal nightmare."

the cast has described the show as 75 minutes of cardio. Doing that twice a day has to be taxing, andone day performances are plenty taxing. London ran into huge problems without doing 9 or 10 performances a week. Even three alternates may not be enough. You’d almost need two set casts to up the number of performances! That said, I wonder how many performances are done on the cruise ship...

"

The cruise casts perform four shows per cruise, plus a shortened version on the first day where they do a medley performance.

Has the production been "beefed" up for Broadway or is essentially a replica of London?

It’s the same thing just on a bigger stage so they can spread out more. Otherwise it’s exactly the same show.
