For those of you who have seen both, which one did you enjoy most? I've already purchased tickets to other shows, and can't decide between these two. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Phantom for sure. It is a Broadway classic that has stood the test of time, and the production is still in remarkable shape for a show that has been running 30 plus years.

I thank you, too. I've been pre-planning by NY visits for the upcoming Spring and Summer, and I've been wondering about revisiting POTO at some point. I've seen it twice on B'way (1991, 2001) and a few times on tour but still enjoy listening to the soundtrack. It's been on my mind to see it once again -so I'm glad the question was asked and answered (positively) !

Phantom is the better show. But it is also the show that will be running on your next trip to NYC, so you can also look at it that way...

Phantom is so incredibly special, I am jealous for those who get to see it for the first time. It's a show that everyone should see, at least once if possible. The performers, the sound, the lighting, the costumes. It's a near perfect show.

Thanks haterobics! It's funny you should say that. I've been visiting the city annually, for the last 10 years (I live in Atlantic Canada), and every time I go to buy tickets, I think, "I really should see Phantom" but then, I think about other, more current shows, and think, "Well...I'll see it next year!" I think I'll buy a ticket! Thanks again.

Phantom without a doubt.  Beautiful is pretty generic and forgettable.  You might see a great performance in the lead actress, but nothing about it is extraordinary.

You can see the same production of Beautiful on tour anywhere in the country as you can on Broadway. With Phantom, the only place to see the original production in this country is Broadway.

VERY excited to be attending next week, as it will finally give me a chance to “compare” the two versions. However, I’ve been told to see the original on Broadway has no equal.

I've seen many (and I do mean many) actors in the Phantom title role, and I can't think of anyone who has done a better job than the current lead, Ben Crawford. His voice is phenomenal. Kaley Ann Voorhees, the current Christine, is also excellent. If you're interested in seeing Phantom, this is a good time to do so.
