Dear Evan Hansen TKTS |
On Wednesday (1/23) at around 4pm, I saw that Dear Evan Hansen was showing on the board at all 3 TKTS locations. I planned on running over there after work, but when I checked the app again at 5pm, they were all gone.
So yesterday (Thursday 1/24), I kept checking the app throughout the day with no luck. Then at 5pm, I saw that it was back up on the board, so I ran out of my office and hauled ass down Broadway to the booth lol. I got there by 5:15pm and secured a third row center orchestra seat (Row C Seat 102) for $121. Praise be.
I didn't see a single empty seat at the performance (all box seats and standing room were filled too).

That’s awesome. Fingers crossed that I manage something similar next month.
Related: Has it been announced which performances Andrew Barth Feldman is or isn't doing? The New York Times article about him said, at least at first, he would only be doing 5 shows a week. I assume he'll be out Wednesday and Saturday matinees -- what is the third performance he'll miss?

Fingers crossed for TKTS availability since shows seem to have more availability in February, but being realistic about my chances. "
Yeah it’s possible. I hung out at TKTS this last Saturday and nothing came in last minute. But there were DEH tickets dropping in price most nights leading up to curtain

I have been checking the DEH website as well and I don't see this posted. Can you tell where they post this info so I know there to look for it? The Telecharge site still says that Michael performs the 2 matinees only.

Thank you!
The producers didn't want to overwhelm him since he is so young and this is his Broadway debut. The way I understand it is he is starting with 5 shows with the hopes of building up to more eventually. I think it was talked about in the NYT article.
That makes sense to have him do 5 shows a week to start.
I'm surprised the producers went the TKTS route as of late though. I thought they'd have discounts through telechargeoffers first.

I saw the show last week using the Broadway Week codes. I had checked several dates and it was really hard to find 2 seats together. Now they could have had a specific block set aside just for Broadway Week offers however, I'd understand if they only had a handful of tickets to sell on TKTS last minute.
Ironically, when I went to the box office 2 hours before show time to pick up my tickets, 3 different people walked up trying to buy seats. 1 asked for rush tickets. Answer was no. 1 asked for Broadway Week tickets and answer was no. And the 3rd asked for a future date. In all 3 cases, the agent was selling tickets for $179 and above.

How was the view from right mezz? I have row A right mezz in a few months.

TKTS doesn't require offering up any future-date seats at a discount ( other than maybe a few for the next day matinee ) and simply decide last-minute on a show by show basis whereas TelechargeOffers exposes possibly months of future performances to revenue-losing exposure.

The view from there is great. Unless you are in the very last seat, nothing at all is obstructed (and even then, I'd say it's limited to a very, very brief moment in Act 2). The only downfall to those seats is that it's easy to get distracted by the production booth that's set up in the box seats right in front of you.
The view from there is indeed good. I don’t recall even noticing the box seats. I just want to be closer this time. Doesn’t look like there’s that many seats available in the orchestra so more than likely I’ll end up going to StubHub as it probably won’t pop up at TKTS.

Your view will be great from there. Nothing should be obstructed at all. Mezz A is my favorite view for DEH. The projections are really good from there because you are pretty close but can still see the full stage and floor projections (which aren't visible from the orchestra).
