I thought the same thing when I saw Moulin Rouge go to market with it's very high ticket prices. Give them a little time. I think some people are waiting for discounts too.

I'm not sure though where the orchestra will be as I believe they are selling the pit tickets. The stage definitely seems as if it will be more confined then the massive Dominion Theater so there are bound to be some changes. I'm sure they will do their best though to provide the best experience they can. Nothing but campy fun."

The use of effects like that is uncertain. While it was present in the first Toronto run (a direct transfer from the U.K.), many of the more electorate special effects (like the car) had been removed when it came back with the touring configuration. Originally wasn’t the NY run meant to be the touring version? If they still use the sets built for the tour.... it may be without certain effects.

I believe the Toronto show was the touring one. So if it was in the Toronto show, it is likely going to be in the NYC one (if the theater has the room).

P.S. I dont believe the Toronto shows were a direct transfer from London.  Andrew left the London show to do the Toronto one, but otherwise most of the sets/cast etc. were specific to the Toronto show.

There were two Toronto runs, the first one being a direct transfer from London and the second being the tour

Yes the 1st Toronto run was the entire physical production (set) from London (the elaborate version).  The 2nd Toronto run (start of the defunct tour) was the pared down tour set.

Well the "Pit" seats are no longer available to purchase. Anyone who bought one of these get a refund or a seat reassignment?

It really didn't make sense these were for sale anyways. They can now expand the stage (this show requires a massive stage), put the orchestra on the right side of the pit (stage left) and add back in one of the special effects discussed on here.

Really curious to see how this goes down. It just all seems so messy!

Perhaps it will help with the sightlines issue. Having an entire section partial view is just plain strange,

Is Jumpstart Entertainment associated with this?

For what it's worth, I just checked a Friday night a couple of weeks into the run and saw fewer than 150 orchestra seats were sold (about 20% of the section).

I am sure it will go on TDF if sales are bleak closer to opening. I guess the reviews will have some baring on things as well.

I had previously asked about the first three rows in the orchestra (I have no experience with this venue and the seat plan makes the first three rows look like an odd arrangement), and now they're all grayed out. Do I understand correctly that folks are expecting the car to land in that area now?

I would say that you are making a fair assumption in terms of the car.

Thanks - now, with those first three rows out of play, any suggestions for how far back I should go to avoid having my view blocked by the car (if it happens)?

I contacted the NYCC because I had booked seats in Row AA and didn't get any notification about being reseated. They wrote back today saying that I still had my seats in Row AA and that "all the other seats in that section had been sold" - naturally I don't believe a word, I also assume they took them off sales to make room for the orchestra pit/car and that news haven't reached the NYCC box office yet.  But I'm still none the wiser where we'll be sitting now Down to One

In London the car was pushed into the orchestra pit on the right side, so I would book seats on the left side of the orchestra (lower numbers 101-112 thereabouts).

I see what you are asking as far as a car obstructing your view. I have no idea about that. I assumed the car would be lower than the stage itself after it crashed into the pit so sightlines would not be compromised no matter where one sat. Sometimes the box office does not have specific information about things like that but I would imagine the City Center box office would be more prepared to answer that question than other outlets if they are being utilized. But one cannot be sure. The orchestra seats are slightly raked. I still think one should purchase Grand Tier but I know some people like to be really close so they can see the actors sweat and there are advantages to that.

I wouldn't worry about the car effect. If it is really bugging you, avoid first few rows in the orchestra on the far right side (stage left).

Also, whether you decide on orchestra or grand tier, I would sit close to the center of the stage. Avoid far left or far right.

Agreed.

As of right now, the only partial view seats are in the rear mezzanine, and the balcony is entirely full view.

Hmm? They must have decided to rework the staging given that the balcony sits so many people. I wonder if they upped the prices.

No, no, no!! Christina Bennington is still playing Raven (the role she originated in London). She is great!!

Lena Hall is playing Sloane who is Raven's mother.
