FYI... Bandstand is being broadcast to movie theaters on Monday and Thursday. I'm still kicking myself for missing it live !
But trying to get info and tickets for AMC theaters is a joke. Anyone else having trouble trying to buy tickets? I can't even get to a live person in most theaters, I guess they're being eaten by dinosaurs.
If anyone knows a phone number to a live person at Fathom or AMC let me know if you can. Thanks (These shows sure can't be a success if you can't even buy tickets or get a showtime!)
"Bandstand" producers and marketing should know this kind of stuff...
I'd just wait for it to come online if I were you. I tried to see Falsettos last year through a similar program, and the tickets were at a steep price, I traveled about 40 minutes away and then they told us "The stream will not work here, please take a refund and a free movie ticket" which didn't seem like really good compensation. AMC has awful customer support. Find the local AMC phone number though, if you truly want to see it.
I just went to Fathoms website and clicked on Bandstand - I entered my zip code and theaters near me popped up with a link to purchase tickets. Is it possible there may not be a theater near you showing it? I live in a mid-sized Midwest city but there are 3 theaters showing it within an easy driving distance.
Tickets are $18.00 at the local movie theaters near me, and with my Cinemark Movie Club membership, just $12. We are going on Thursday. It was easy to find via the Fathom Events site or our local movie theater web site.
Fathom Events are not supported by moviepass unfortunately.
I went to see Curious Incident... in Miami Beach two weeks ago or whenever it was, and at first it had shown up on the moviepass app in the morning as a supported screening, but by the time I got to the theatre it was taken off

It changes daily. When I went to see Puffs, I noticed it listed in the MoviePass app and thought, maybe I could see it a second time with MoviePass. But it was greyed out at the second showing.
Bandstand is available in the app today though. I'll try it tonight.
I did email Fathom Events directly and got a fast reply. The theater that I was my first choice had announced "Bandstand" but then Fathom deemed that that location's renovations and sound system was not approved for the broadcast. So at least Fathom Events is on the ball, (as they have been in the past with their broadcast)...
So I think I'll be waiting until Thursday and go to another theater that's a few miles farther. But I won't miss it!! Let me know how it looks and and sounds and the filming of the choreography...
BANDSTAND is on my MoviePass app for the local Regal! Excited to see it tonight.

Attempted to check in for Bandstand using Moviepass at my Century Theatre in Tucson. Card was declined for insufficient funds (as MoviePass only loads the regular price, which is less than the Fathom Events price). Attempted to do a split transaction with another card and then cash, no go on either.
This is actually playing in one of the movie theatres here on Staten Island. I'm quite surprised...I think the screening of Falsettos popped up here, but that was it.
I do think it was random for Fathom to give the cinematic treatment to this one. It got mixed reviews, didn't run super-long, and only won a Tony for choreography. What is their criteria for selecting Broadway shows to screen?

Generally, I think it's up to the Broadway show's producers to record the show and make it available to Fathom Events to distribute. The producers of Bandstand spent $1.8 million to record the show for theatrical presentation, ensuring that the musical could be shown after the show's closing.
Generally, I don't except to see any current shows on Broadway to do Fathom Events screenings while their runs are on Broadway or on Equity National Tour (Newsies did their recording toward the end of the National Tour). Off-Broadway shows like Puffs probably have more freedom to do Fathom Events screenings (as there not as likely to tour).
Well, now I feel bad I didn’t see this when it was on Broadway. What a beautiful, moving show with two knockout lead performances and an excellent ensemble. I think it was maybe a bit overdone or long here and there, but I was overall very moved. Really glad to have seen this screening tonight.
I also just saw it. I LOVED it. Beth was a standout for me. So funny! I wasn’t a fan of the opening number but it was still great. I loved the coustumes and I liked the set transitions. Overall, it was well worth my 18 dollars. And I will probally try to catch it again.

So happy I got to see that again. If Corey's performance was great from the balcony at the Jacobs, it was SPECTACULAR up close. That guy has got a gift and no mistake. But the whole thing was just very special.
I feel bad for the people using Movie Pass for this. Movie Pass EXPLICITLY say that Fathom Events are no goes (even ones that are cheaper than regular priced movies, like the TCM classic movie series). I know quite a few people who have gotten their accounts canceled because of doing so.

Then it shouldn’t appear in the app as being available for purchase. That’s their problem, not the customer’s.
