Well, you gotta have a gimmick.

Why wouldn’t a sullen, ignored son make sense (assuming, of course, we’re exploring the “musical fable” aspect of the piece, as opposed to strict historical interpretation)?"

It becomes more complicated if you gender bend Louise/Gypsy.  First off, she is based

It's a musical fable, of course you can.  It would be harder to justify the gender swap for Gypsy Rose Lee, but the parent, no issue.

Radko Broadway Cares Ornaments  Oct 20 2020, 08:08:31 AM

I hope it is either Merman or Martin - both overdue.  Truly hope it isn't a retread of one already out there, like they did with Lansbury.  Too many great divas for them to redesign a previous release.

Joseph and the Technicolor dreamcoat thoughts  Aug 21 2020, 08:33:50 AM

I thought the original Broadway cast was just perfect.  Laurie Beechman and Tim Hutton were awesome.  I was 15 years old and saw it over and over.  Had a big impact on me.  Later productions just got bigger and longer and gayer and alot of the charm of the original piece got lost.

I still love the music and the memories of that production.

ISO: Cast Signed Windowcards from THE PROM and HEAD OVER HEELS  Jun 30 2020, 01:09:43 PM

PM me if you might have one or both that youre willing to sell. Happy holidays all!"

There is the second version (and in my opinion, the better of the two) window card on ebay now.

cant imagine why they haven’t used as advertising the shot when Maria and Tony are facing each other as the cast pulls them apart. That is a great scene.

I hated this part when both sides were pulling them apart. It looked cartoonish, felt very comedic, and took all seriousness out of the scene.
"

Agreed.  I loved the show, hated the staging of Tonig

Plaza Suite Discount Code?  Feb 3 2020, 01:27:54 PM

Might be too early to tell what?  For the upcoming revival.  Tickets are available for sale.  Some productions issue discount codes.  I am inquiring if one has in fact been posted.  I commented that there are lots of seats available.

I kept getting error messages online.  Called and left a message.  Got a call back in 1/2 hour and bought $200 tickets.  $150 was already gone.  I am very excited for this.  The Thoroughly Modern Millie concert was amazing.

TDF Down?  Jan 31 2020, 11:35:46 AM
Is anyone else having trouble with TDF today?

What would you see if you had a time machine and tickets to 3 shows?  Jan 23 2020, 01:32:19 PM

I'd go back in time 3 separate times and see Judy at Carnegie Hall 3 times.

My Name Is Lucy Barton - Reviews  Jan 20 2020, 09:35:20 AM

I'm really surprised how well this is selling.  Was holding out for TDF, but never appeared to my knowledge.  Went to get a ticket and hard to find decent seats.  Ended up buying a mid-level mezz for its current closing night - house manager indicated it might extend one week.

WEST SIDE STORY (2019 Revival) Preview Thread  Dec 20 2019, 12:02:37 PM

Liked it, didn't love it.  Costumes are just awful, like something futuristic.  Having heavy drama play essentially off state and accessible by just video just really disconnected me from the drama.

What do they do if there is an understudy?  Have they filmed this vignettes multiple times to account for change in cast?

Didn't like the way Maria was directed.  She comes across flirty and Maria should be reserved and shy at first.&nb

Audra should be mother for this one night only.
