Does Glenn come out after Wednesday matinees to sign? I'm going next week and would love to meet her.

According to staff, Glenn has pretty much stopped coming out after her illness that caused her to miss a performance in May.

Does the rest of the cast come out or did they just stop the stage door altogether after Close stopped coming out/signing?

Stop it? You do realize it is just supposed to be where the cast/crew enter/exit the building...

It's hard to say. I've gone to the stage door three of the five times I saw the show. The first time, everyone (including Ms. Close) came out and signed; the second time, everyone came out except Ms. Close; and the last time no one came out.

Has anyone had the chance to see Glenn Close at the stage door after May?  I'd love to meet her but don't want to wait if she is not doing it any more (which of course she has a right to stop doing).

I was there on the Sunday the week before Tonys. A few of the supporting players and ensemble came out but none of the 4 principal players did.

The 4 leads didn't come out, I was hoping to ask Siobhan Dillon a lot of uncomfortable questions about her performance as Betty Schaeffer...so it's good she didn't come out...haha.

I guess "stop" wasn't the right word, but when I saw the show in March (it was a Friday night during BCEFA season), the stage door guard said that nobody was coming out that night. I was wondering if it was just that time of year because of Broadway Cares, or if that still happens (especially after one poster said that Close stopped coming out).
And of course every actor has the right to not sign after the show!

Actually, your use of the word "stop" was 100% correct, i.e., the cast used to come out regularly and now they seem to have stopped doing so.

Yes, they stopped coming out of the stage door. But the stage door itself cannot be stopped.

Mikem, Why wouldn't you still want to wait even if "she is not doing it any more"?   As it was pointed out to me by two posters recently, one still should enjoy the comradery  and the kumbaya of the stage door experience even if the person your'e hoping for doesn't come out.  It shouldn't matter how long you wait.....when you stage door, you do it  because  "you did it  for love".  (Cue A Chorus Line). Of course, I'm being sarcastic.  Who in their right mind would still wait if they knew that info in advance?  But some on here love to tell another how they should dictate their time.

Dumb question, but how do people actually leave if they don't go through stage door? Just through a different fire exit with a car waiting for them there?

Basically, yeah. Most theatres usually have several exits.

I have to believe you're being deliberately obtuse. Did you really not get that the poster meant "stop [greeting fans at] the stage door"? Folks around here also regular use the expression "stage dooring", and no one balks at the fact that "dooring" isn't really a word and "stage dooring" isn't a verb.
